this is one area in which Chicago is indisputably better than anywhere else. basically no other world city has this much uninterrupted, publicly-accessible coastline this close to its core. in total, Chicago has an incredible 26 miles or 48 kilometers of public shoreline.

The NAB survey is horrendous. This is the worst deterioration I've ever seen in its findings. Profitability collapsed from 14 to 0 in just two months, forward orders have gone negative; evidence of severe disinflationary pressures.

Overall margins are like 2-3%. Coles and Woolies employ something like 300,000 people directly. Then there's all the costs of transport, storage, property - getting stuff on shelves daily across a country as big as Australia is incredibly complex.
