#Mayday 🛟 Incredible footage from my US #Coastguard @USCGPacificNW colleagues. Watch the moment a rescue swimmer was deployed from the helicopter🚁to a boat in distress just as a huge rolling wave 🌊hit… all persons were successfully rescued from the water and onto hospital.🙌

Did you know there are actually 4 emergency services which operate full time 999 control rooms? It’s believed up to 50% of adults don’t know you can call 999 for the #Coastguard . Scary! We must change this to save more lives. Tweet/share/follow- your message could save a life!

The #Penlee Lifeboat disaster occurred 42 years ago today. Launching to the aid of the coaster Union Star after her engines failed in heavy seas. Tragically, 8 lifeboat volunteers & 8 crew on the Union Star all lost their lives. Gone but never forgotten, today we honour them.⚓️💙

This morning our #Coastguard #Rescue helicopter from #Inverness rescued two climbers who were trapped in a precarious position on Bidean Nam Bian, #Glencoe . Both climbers were recovered by our winchman and handed to @Scotambservice in Fort William. Thankfully a good outcome! 🗻🚁

This morning our #Coastguard #Rescue helicopter was tasked with an urgent hospital transfer. Poor weather hampered its landing at the hospital. #Aberdeen Coastguard Rescue Team secured a landing site on a roadway near Aberdeen beachfront allowing the transfer to be completed.

Last night our Sumburgh #Coastguard helicopter battled through rain, snow & high winds to deliver a patient to @NHSGrampian #Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to receive specialist care. They were met by our #rescue officers who assisted in the transfer. Amazing work! #SavingLives 🚨🚁🌨

This morning our #Coastguard #Rescue helicopter from #Inverness was scrambled to assist @TaysideMRT with a search for two missing walkers in the Cairngorms north of Blair Atholl. Both walkers successfully located by the helicopter crew and flown to safety at #Pitlochry . #Teamwork

Yesterday our #Coastguard #Rescue helicopter from #Humberside assisted in transfering a critically ill patient into specialist care in London. Our S92 landed in Regents Park to complete the transfer. It always makes me proud to know I’ve contributed to saving a life. #Teamwork
