In American Legion, we played almost every day, practiced on off days, and had only 2 true off days a month. Then played for a real tournament worth something (districts, states, regionals, nationals). Now you try and practice and it’s like pulling teach. Youth ball is broken.

The Cleveland area needs an all-turf baseball field complex like Grand Park in Indiana or Lake Point in Georgia. Put lights on it, and teams can rent it out at a fair cost for practices and games. Local high school and college baseball players all benefit in the spring!

It’s with a very heavy heart to inform the Northeast Ohio baseball community that Mark “Coach X” Echstenkamper has passed away after about a year and a half battle with brain cancer. Coach X was a longtime teacher and coach at Independence.

Self promotion is sickening. Players and parents. I don’t know of one player who has received a scholarship offer from a tweet. Tagging schools and coaches is even more sickening. I am a true believer that in 2021 if you can play, they’ll find you. Period.

Last week we have no umpires and played the game with the field manager calling the game. Today we all drive 1hr+ for a midweek game just for the other team to not show up. But the field is lined and umps are here. Leadership of organizations just has to be better. Unreal.

For the first time this season, our JV @SEHS_BASEBALL Eagles own a winning record at 8-7! Winners of 3 in a row, thanks to the offense ERUPTING for 34 total runs scored and great pitching performances over that stretch 🔥 Nothing but love with this group!!! ⚾️🤙🏻🦅

#75Hard Day 75 My first round of 75 Hard started in November of 2020 because physically I was disgusted being 243 pounds. My 2022 word was “Control.” Honestly, I rate myself about a C- in living this word throughout the year. Round 2 this time was all about regaining control 🧵
