Question I’ve been pondering for a while. Why do we put so much time preparing for game one of a doubleheader (stretch, throw, BP, some take I/O, etc.) but then roll into game two so nonchalantly with a gut full of subs? Is game two not valued by some as much as game one?

P is an electric athlete on the baseball field. Elite speed that can impact a game whenever he’s in the spotlight. Couldn’t have asked for a better lead off guy last season and his defense may have been even more impactful. Whoever locks him up next season is getting a monster!

Banning the shift is terrible for the game. No reason teams should be prevented from positioning their players to guard against the most statistically probable outcome. Shifts have been around since the early days of professional baseball, disappointed with this development.

The growth @BrendanBeaver2 has shown as a pitcher this year has been remarkable. His stuff has gotten a little nastier, his conditioning has improved, but his mental game has grown exponentially. He’s turned into an absolute bulldog on the mound as the stakes have gotten higher.

As a college baseball coach: summer ball provides benefit for some college ballplayers but I’m a firm believer that using your resources and sweat equity at a facility like Driveline will benefit a large majority much more. Invest in development and you will not be disappointed.

Usually the break in between is about a half hour. Figure in about 10 minutes to eat and do whatever you’d like to relax. Think about how much can be accomplished in 20 minutes to get a competitive advantage going into game two if the opponent is just eating and checking Twitter.
