Disappointed to hear @BMA_GP exec say they had no levers (the IA motion?) and asking grassroots GPs what the next steps should be instead of acting like leaders and articulating a plan. And now I hear some of them were backing this contract to the committee a few weeks ago

Happy Fathers day to all the wonderful fathers out there. With a lifetime of managing an alcohol abuser of a father, about 3 years ago I cut all ties after delivering an ultimatum. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. So this fathers day, I've donated to @NacoaUK

Well after being silenced because someone at the BMA didn't like my report to constituents... 4 months later the investigation has concluded & found no significant harm came to the BMA as a result of it - I've been given a warning. Too late - I've left and have no plans to return

I suspect I got this from the patient who came to see me f2f about her hip, triaged as 'cold', only to say at the end of the consultation 'while I'm here, I have a chesty cough, can I have some antibiotics please..?'

@abi_carey Happened to me as a junior junior Dr. Reported it through some thing we'd been told to confidentially report stuff through. Was handed to my educational supervisor who said 'that's just the way she is' (meaning the nurse) and took no further action. Terrible leadership.

a great example of a BMA 'gaff' that came about because BMA leaders want to appear 'polite'. He could have declined the photo in a perfectly polite way. What do our negotiators do or say in negotiations 'owing to politeness'? @Parody_RCGP

- The award was made at a fringe event at #ARM2022 , which is not funded by @TheBMA - A photograph was latterly taken (reportedly owing to politeness) - An apology was made for this - @CNagpaul and @theBMA had no say in the process or choice to give this award

from the information in this article, you could deduce that in my 4 months at @BMA_GP I have been involved in 4 independent external lawyer investigations about: – two code of conduct referrals – the press leaks in November – the issues I raised in my open resignation letter 🤔

@Parody_RCGP Thank you! I had been thinking that it is about time (so soon?!) to resign from the sausage factory committee - was feeling like I'm compromising my own values and integrity by being associated with it. But this sort of comment, and the support from constituents, spurs me on.
