We are delighted to announce the release of our film Detect the Undetected: Find Me.
This compelling film showcases real-life stories of three remarkable couples who share their journey of recognising heart failure symptoms, urging their loved one to seek medical attention,
I am a consultant nurse. Could I fill the shoes of a “junior “ ( ridiculous term btw) dr ? NO ! I have a completely different role. We work brilliantly together, and we are all absolutely necessary for those differing roles, but we do not replace each other. 1/2
2/2 for the sake of us all who do and will need good healthcare, start to value these irreplaceable , highly educated , dedicated and skilled people. Value them
@pumpinghearts
awarded me The Roy award ! I am incredibly humbled but VERY proud. There cannot be a greater privilege than being recognised by the people that are the very reason we do what we do. I can’t speak highly enough of PM and the work they do. Thank you so very much 🥺❤️
Last day at work before Christmas 🎄 and I’ve got my
@pumpinghearts
Christmas jumper on ! I’ve not sent cards but donated to this fantastic charity instead ! Merry Christmas all xxxx
Things are very exciting and promising in Heart failure treatments right now ? We don’t only need more HF nurses but HF specialist cardiologists, sp pharmacists and physiologists ! Please think about specialising in HF !

Happy 75th birthday to the NHS. Thank you to the Nursing times for choosing me as one of its 75 nurses as part of the celebrations. I’m humbled and so proud to be able to call myself a Nurse. Protect the NHS and please protect the title Nurse ❤️
@Nuzzzzie
@DrLindaDykes
This is beyond every boundary. I would report to police and also at work. The behaviour is escalating. Think of it as helping them too as they are going to get in a lot of trouble unless they walk away now. I’m so sorry this must be terrifying. Please report this
Representation is important & glass ceilings need to be smashed
The majority of
@BSHeartFailure
members are women & also nurses
Brilliant to see the super-talented
@CarysBarton
being voted in as Chair Elect (the first nurse ❤️)
Lynda would have been so proud of you 🥹
Just said goodbye to this beautiful soul. I cannot begin to say how much he taught me and how grateful I am to have had him in my life. There are no words. Goodnight gorgeous boy always be in my heart ❤️ Thank you to his wonderful family for including me ❤️
I have spent the day as a volunteer jabber ! Best day as a nurse for a while I have to say. To have tasks I can complete effectively and not feel guilt has been wonderful ❤️
Heart failure awareness week 1-7th May. In NWL we aim increase awareness of heart failure symptoms.
Heart failure is treatable, recognise the symptoms of heart failure:
· Fighting for breath
· Fatigued
· Fluid build-up (swelling in legs/ankles)
@drcplymen
🧵
This week is heart failure awareness week. Nearly 80% of HF is diagnosed in hospital despite pts having symptoms that could have triggered earlier diagnosis. We can treat HF well but early diagnosis is key !

looks like I didn’t fail to eat the pies here but loving my new hoodie from Pumping Marvellous nonetheless ❤️

With respect you did not give the benefit of the doubt to the poster. If your tweets consistently cause upset I’d argue you who need to reflect and change something in your delivery. I don’t say this to cause you upset, genuinely ask you to reflect so you do not feel like this
@saharbjones
@AmericanAir
Few things here ….
1/ why assume you are a nurse due to your sex?
2/ you saved the day so if a nurse/Dr who cares ?
3/why did the Dr behind you stand up when job done ? (Embarrassed for them frankly)
4/ no words …….
Self indulgent- My son is 24 today and moving out of home. He makes me proud every day. He is one of the best human beings I have ever known. Already missing him 💔 Good luck in this next part of your journey son (mums still here for you)
There cannot be many HFSNs that have not been taught or influenced by the great Yvonne. Her acceptance speech was so incredibly moving and exactly why she is the most deserved winner. A true leader. I know Lynda would 💯 agree and be so very proud of her dear friend
Congratulations to Yvonne Millerick in receiving the Lynda Blue Award. Yvonne is a HF Palliative Care Nurse Consultant Lecturer in Glasgow who has dedicated 38 years of her life working in cardiology, HF and supportive palliative and end of life care. Truly well deserved.

Covid finally got me.And it’s not for cissies! Taken all my energy to type this. Cough yesterday and negative LFT but by night full blown flu and positive test. It hasn’t gone away people but thank goodness I’m triple vaxxed or it could be worse. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone
Today is my birthday I am getting on a bit ! But grateful given many have not been so lucky to reach my age especially in the last two years ! So I’m embracing it ! Cheers
Women in Cardiology. Such inspiring Cardiologists ! Two I am so proud to work alongside

One of the saddest days of my life. I have lost my beautiful friend Lynda Blue. She was my mentor, my partner in crime and my very dear friend👯♀️A shining light has gone out and we have a new star in the sky. My heart breaks for her wonderful family. Hold them in your thoughts ❤️
A wonderful young man there are no words for his strength of spirit and determination

This lady is someone who gave the best presentation about me in front of 100s of people. It was a pleasure to listen to and overwhelming at the admiration she has for what I do.She’s amazing and one of the people I couldn’t of done this year without! Thank you

But they no longer get a bursary and pay the same way all students do. But on top of that have to work almost full time for free to get their practice hours in. How about we owe them ????
We must keep Heart failure services running. The significant impact of delay in diagnosis and optimisation of GDMT would be devastating to people living with heart failure.
We know during the first wave of the pandemic, many
#heartfailure
services melted away with resources being absorbed by
#COVID19
downstream of the decisions made,
#patients
suffered. We will not let this happen again.

1,000,000 people in the UK are relying on you.
@natprocyshyn
I’m flummoxed when I read Datix threads. As a senior nurse for many years I get Datix for entire directorates and I have never seen any like the ones talked about on twitter. If I did I’d soon get some training in. So although tweeted about here I assume actually in minority
This lady really is my hero ! She has done so much with the nurse forum and is a complete star ⭐️ I’m so proud to have been able to work alongside her. And even prouder to call her my good friend

This amazing young woman is 20 today ! I am no longer the mother of teenagers. She’s strong, brave, clever, funny and sassy ! Wise beyond her years and my best buddy ❤️ So proud
@ClareGerada
@DrNeenaJha
Was this tweet reply really necessary ? Did it add anything ? Normal and polite conversation often opens with “hello how are you?” So
@DrNeenaJha
how are you ? Hope all good with you 👍
HFSN’s must be highly skilled professionals to safely and effectively manage this complex condition. More important than ever we support our nurses in attaining the required competence and evidencing this to stakeholders

For people complaining that the clap was pointless and what we really need is PPE , more pay etc. Yes we do ABSOLUTELY need those things but I for one am incredibly moved that our community supports us and wanted to show that. Why can’t we have both ? ❤️
Thank you so much to
@NursingTimes
I feel hugely honoured. A wonderful privilege to be a nurse and to be recognised for something I love so much is always the icing on the cake. So many amazing nurses in these 75 and so many other amazing nurses now and of the future ❤️
What a great day for HF specialist nurses and AHPs. Such amazing representation and expertise being showcased

I have never been more proud of us ! Thanks so much for all the best wishes and lovely tweets I am so incredibly grateful ❤️
Dr Jane Cannon talking to us about LVADs. Many cardiologists can go through their entire career without managing a pt with LVAD so great education to remove some of our fear !
@BSHeartFailure
@BSHNurseForum
As always fantastic talk from Yvonne Millerick a cardiac palliative care specialist. Palliative care conversations should be evolving from diagnosis onward alongside active care. Do not perceive these as difficult conversations but as meaningful
Heart failure patients are more vulnerable with COVID-19. I understand this has been an issue with some employers when our patients need to stay off work. See below ......
Chairing “the future” session with

Heart failure care pathways: the power of collaboration and marginal gains
@ClipboardUK
Very frustrating and so unnecessary! None of us send pts to hospital unless we have to and sometimes we HAVE too. Why aren’t we all more supportive? Everyone is doing their best. And criticising doesn’t make them look clever it makes them look rude, ignorant and unprofessional
I can only achieve the things I do as I have the most amazing supportive friends and colleagues. They make me braver and better ! I am very very lucky and very very blessed ❤️ WE are a great team ❤️
@Azeem_Majeed
I was telling my kids this and if someone had the book you wanted you had to go on the wait list. I also had to hand write or use a typewriter/word processor.They think I’m a dinosaur. I have literally zero sympathy when they moan to me about their essays being tough.
Look what I came home to ! I’m so proud and am feeling quite emotional. Thank you pumping marvellous for giving me a fantastic start to 2019 especially following the terrible low 2018 ended on. I’m so grateful ❤️❤️❤️❤️ keep up your marvellous work ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Had the privilege of meeting two gentleman from this cycling club yesterday. People with heart conditions under transplant centre some with LVADs ! How impressive is this ???? Put me to shame !

Top papers from each of the 5 leading Cardiology journals featured at the Heart Failure Society of America. Dr Claire Lawson’s paper was featured as paper of the year for Circulation HF by the editor in chief ! Fantastic to see a Nurse researcher up there flying the flag
@PharmacistHF
@lucypgeridoc
Agree with this entirely. DW pt - Treatment with comprehensive disease-modifying pharmacological therapy estimated to afford 2·7 additional years for an 80-year-old free from CV death or 1st hospital admission
Excellent talk from
@NormaCaples
regards ICD deactivation who, when and how ? HF nurses are well placed to have this conversations but feel I’ll equipped to do so. We need to follow guidelines more consistently
@IAHFNurses
Happy new year ! Who knows what challenges 2022 will bring but I know we will do all we can to support each other, get through it and have some happy times . Cheers you lovely people 🥳❤️ (unlovely people keep scrolling I’m not talking to you 🤣😂)
@liambarker
I’m laughing a lot less than I did at the book. It’s dark and real. It hurts. It’s how I remember many things from a nurse perspective (including that flippin paternoster).
One of my favourite speakers ever ! If you have a chance to listen to
@drpmcampbell
present you must ! She makes everything so clear and easy to understand. Very engaging. Thank you
@CardRenalForum
A devastating loss. We will miss you, Jamie. Thank you for all the extraordinary, selfless things you did for our charity to support others. 💔

My personal experience is my male gay friends , colleagues and acquaintances have been amongst the MOST respectful men I have encountered. But I guess these men are talking from their own learned experiences. I don’t think it is intended to diminish others.
