@fklein907 I agree with Rose Solari - put it on ice. When all else fails, I put the hard squeeze on a poem by squeezing it into the sonnet box. Pronoun shift can pull it closer or distance. Same w/ tense. If that fails, rewrite backwards.

Fallen for New Orleanian Christine Kwon's _A Ribbon the Most Perfect Blue_. "Noh Mask" is one of my favorites for ease of structure and development -- the surface quietly controlled through opening anaphora and parataxis. I have no idea where we're heading - that last line!
