There is an entire generation of young women who think that the "fem" in feminism stands for "feminine", not "female". To them the movement is a class action suit where we fight everything, for everyone, amd achieve nothing. I wish them well, but there's real work to be done.

No woman or girl has escaped misogyny & sexual violence because of a bald head or hairy armpits. Misogyny is a very intentional and ancient prejudice. If you're serious about fighting it, stop pretending like anyone can gain access to an oppressed class by saying the magic words.

That cooking that you do for a living? Feminism is the reason you can do it as a career, and keep your earnings, instead of doing it uneducated, and unpaid in a man's house. It does not mean you and a man are the same. It means you don't have less rights. Hope it's clearer now?

He was the Alpha of the wolf pack. He spoke in growls and roars with a limited vocabulary mostly consisting of the word "Mine!". She was a brown haired, blue eyed 140 pound girl who the goddess Luna had chosen as his mate. His obsession with her + her timid nature = Soulmates.

@msAdedapo @kikimordi @wemabank And unkind women are not the reason you cannot pass Nigerian citizenship to your children if you marry a foreigner. Women's rights to equality should not be determined by how "nice" they are to other women. It certainly hasn't been required of men. So it is nonsense AT BEST.

Women and girls are literally sent out of their homes and into huts made from mud and leaves due to this "ability to piss blood once a month". Periods have been used as a reason to keep women out of social and economic institutions. Enjoy scoring woke points at women's expense.

The same way you people insist that because African languages didn't have gendered pronouns, they did not have gendered oppression. Your great grand father may not have said the word "She", but he knew which sex of child to prioritise. Be fucking serious I beg you.

It is natual to want companionship. Every 3-5 business days, we discuss how poor the dating options are for straight women. Mocking them for being religious and wanting good partners is... mean spirited.

Aside from “Ciara’s prayer” being the most cringe thing the internet has been on for a while, I can’t believe people assess Ciara and assess Russel Wilson and think it was Ciara’s prayer not Russel’s prayer.

@Mr_Emmcap__ I don't just get period pains. The week before, my face gets oily, and I get pimples. Then there's the cramps that come with a little blood. Initially. After that it's a lot of blood. Two pads full a day. Then there's constipation. If I'm lucky, diarrhoea too. And more blood.

The women insulting her for this post, need to question why they cannot handle the hair that grows out of their own heads. A lot of you relax your hair and rush to fix straight wigs and weaves on top. Stop the lies. It's not about convienence.

All the organising, protesting, lobbying and on ground work Nigerian feminists have been doing, and they're "weak links" because they won't accept theory that is not realistic or relevant to their experiences. Theoretical tenets that those pushing (from abroad), won't follow.

@PinballWitch "He never helps around the house and has a *toxic* habit. He's resisted all attempts to discuss this and I worry I'm overreacting because I really do love him" Vs "She bought me that ring I looked at in the store once, and writes me love letters everyday. Are we just friends???"

Release yourself. Slimmer women do look good in everything (Western clothes), partly because those clothes have always been designed with their body types in mind. Other women being complimented doesn't make you less desirable. Breathe.

@msAdedapo @kikimordi @wemabank Women being nice to each other did not keep a judge from being denied her appointment because her husband was from another state. It did not stop girls from being kidnapped for daring to go to school. It has not stopped thousands of women from being raped, assaulted / molested.

You have never known the fear of hoping and praying for your / a loved one's safety because they were unfortunate enough to be in Northern Nigeria, and not be a northern Muslim. A valid fear is not a phobia.

You make assumptions of a culture and insult a member of that culture at HER wedding, and expect to be spoon-fed with grace? Where I come from, we call that "ment". Entitlement.

@Oloni I love watching videos of Nigerian weddings but this attitude is so unnecessary , if they don’t understand your culture, just teach them, it’s that simple.

@Chydee Actually loving someone might involve a desire to lessen their burdens and create more time for them to rest, instead of comfortably sleeping while they clean up after you, a grown adult. Especially if they also have a job.

Funny enough, a reply like this to someone explaining a feeling of loss from a romantic relationship, just shows that you would be a terrible friend. People are allowed to want romantic relationships, and miss them if they lose them.

@MissyOyamo @DoreenGLM @Rixpoet Plot twist: Most pedophiles are in heterosexual relationships with other adults. Since she never said sex with children was okay, your attempt to reduce her point to the most absurd extreme was obvious, unnecessary and very bigoted.

@onosowobo I like being surrounded by people I love, who look like me. My parents are visibly ageing and I like being able to see them when I choose to. Open to leaving, but there real reasons why people stay, and we need to respect that.

Everybody? Come on now. There's this thing people do when it comes to 4c hair. When hair care tips are posted, these are the people who say it's too stressful, and the length of hair doesn't matter. When long 4c hair is appreciated, these same people claim that it's unrealistic.

There is a way a woman will describe love and you just know she isn't talking about loving a man. No talk of power struggle, or diluting her whole self, or putting up with less than desirable things in the name of "love". Light, Safety and mutual effort. Love this for you. 🙏🏿🙏🏿

i never quite understood this before, but when you deeply love someone with everything in you, your willingness to serve them grows deeper, and can even (and quite often will) extend to members of their family. you just want to do everything in your power to make them happy.

Honestly, if you aren't willing to ask his permission to separate the oxygen from the carbon dioxide he breathes out, so you can inhale it in turn, then marriage isn't for you. Sarah that called her husband "My Lord", did not have two heads.

@raychellered Notice how threats to not hire women as staff anymore, only gain traction when women speak up about rape, assault and harassment. Nobody has a problem hiring women as long as they're quite about their abuse. We see them. Clearly.
