Asked by a Twitter friend to repost this timelapse of my sweet chocolate pepper plant moving at night. I was surprised by how much all my plants moved at night, completely dark room (except for camera IR taking photos) no air flow from heaters etc to make it move involuntarily.

Here's the handstand raccoon from the water bowl camera. After researching online, it appears to be a thing they do. In over 15 years of constant camera trapping this is only the second time I have this behaviour recorded.

Paper Wasp faces After reading about paper wasp's ability to recognize faces I decided to photo each wasp I could, to see if any differences. Interesting: there were differences mostly on the middle clypeus area (area under antenna). 1/2

Hello, Mrs Bear. ❤️🐻❤️ The hot weather must have something to do with seeing a black bear this early on - Typically we see them more in Autumn before they hibernate. Possible she has a cub or two in her den. Water = Life.

For a brief time this afternoon the Raccoonobahn became the muledeerobahn 😁 They came into the garden and ate more plants. ❤️🦌❤️ video 3x normal speed.

Well, this was interesting, neither seemed to mind each other that much. The cat stayed and continued drinking after the raccoon left. I've been out (after seeing this) and sanitized the water bowl, it gets cleaned each morning and bleach/water mix a few times a week. 😺🦝

Please enjoy a minute with the Raccoonobahn commuters. Western fence lizard, spotted towhee, squirrels (normal speed then slo-mo) raccoons, skunk, white-breasted nuthatch. I'm pleased with the camera upgrade - I think you can see a definite improvement.

Normal speed then slow motion. I think this squirrel is splashing the water to keep the paper wasps away while he drinks. Typically, at least here, the squirrels don't splash the water. Actual temp: 87F today.

A raccoon exhibiting the Flehmen response - This involves curling back their lips & exposing their front teeth while inhaling deeply through the nose. It helps them to detect & analyze scents more effectively, especially those related to potential mates or territory markings.

Raccoon kits!!! Another female raccoon hasn't bought her kits to the garden yet. Raccoon kits typically start venturing out with their mother when they're ≈ 8 to 12 weeks old. They're staying close together but soon they'll become Agents of Chaos as they move about the garden.

This is the Western fence lizard that lives in my shed, he? likes to stay on the top of the doors so I have to be careful when I open/close the doors or I'll have a lizard on my head. Its name is Blue.

Timelapse of the pumpkin vine overnight, growing and moving a lot. The tendrils are looking for something to latch on to. Soon they'll find the railroad ties and more plants to latch on to.

Pumpkin vine timelapse (25x normal speed). It's interesting to see the end of the vine and tendrils moving around so much/growing. Calm overnight, this is all the vine moving by itself. I find this fascinating. 🌱

I love seeing all the birds, wasps and mice drinking at the water dish but it makes me really happy when I see one of the Western fence lizards having a drink. This year, like most, we have A LOT of lizards in the garden with many tiny ones. ❤️ Actual temp: 86F
