Our world has been shaken to it's core and forever changed. Sunday night, I thought we were going to the ER to get fluids to help us fight off RSV. Instead, we found out my daughter has leukemia. We would be forever grateful for your prayers as we begin this fight.

2nd round of chemo: done. We have 1 more in a few days and 1 more spinal tap before we can leave the hospital. Then starts 9 months of intensive chemo treatment outpatient. Please continue to pray for Florence, we covet every prayer and encouraging word!

Just an observation: every physician I know-whether Republican or Democrat - who lived through a terrible COVID surge —> voted for Biden. The only physicians I know who didn’t, never held a dying patients hand in a COVID ICU or had to call a patients family. Experiences shape us.

Officially accepted an offer for a Cath lab position! I love the ICU, and wasn't looking to leave but this position came up and has a much better family life balance and better pay. And I'll be working with one of my good friends. I'm excited!

For as terrible as Twitter can be, it can also be incredible I met my wife in here (on accident; thanks @johnny5th ) and the Twitter community has rallied behind my daughter's leukemia diagnosis in an amazing way I never expected. Cheers Twitter! #MyTwitterAnniversary

@shesinscrubs Abolish JCAHO, get floor nurses a chair in the policy-making rooms, ensure SAFE staffing, require nurses to have an observation shift in another unit 1x/quarter at minimum, increase clinical time for nursing students. Stop penalizing nurses for falls/cautis/clabsis.

@rn_bearded @fed_38 Our administration just said droplet masks mandatory 24/7 inside the hospital. Change between rooms. Seems borderline wasteful but I'm so grateful for their commitment to protect us.
