A really cool and overlooked moment captured at the end of the game with Max Scharping, who has filled in nicely the past 2.5 games at right guard, celebrates with his son (I presume, given the jersey number with “Daddy” on the name plate) in the snow with a huge smile.
Not seeing a lot of talk about it, but last time
#Bengals
and
#Chiefs
played each other in Week 13, Cincy didn’t have RB Joe Mixon. He is fresh off of a 105-yard, 5.3 YPC, 1 TD performance vs the
#Bills
Additionally, that game vs KC was Ja’Marr Chase’s 1st back from hip injury.
A few thoughts on
#Bengals
#freeagency
thus far (long tweet coming, so stick with me)
1.) Unlike under Marvin Lewis, this staff is unwilling to give big deals to guys who will be at/near 30 during a deal—especially at skill positions. Hurst, Perine, Bell all there.
2.) When
Gotta love how the national narrative on Dalton has changed. Goes to "America's Team" and he's suddenly ready to elevate a team to the playoffs and is no longer a hindrance.
"This is not a normal backup quarterback signing ... If Andy Dalton had to go and play the season with the Cowboys ... they would be sniffing 9 or 10 wins."

@danorlovsky7
Mac Jones has as many PASSING touchdowns and interceptions (5), as Ja’Marr Chase has RECEIVING touchdowns. He’s also on a team with a worse record than the Bengals.
I mean, what are we doing?
MVP: Josh Allen
OROY: Mac Jones
DROY: Micah Parsons
OPOY: Derrick Henry
DPOY: Myles Garrett
CPOY: Dak Prescott
COACH: Kliff Kingsbury

I hope the Bengals making/winning the Super Bowl this year is the light bulb for voters to get Willie Anderson & Ken Anderson their rightful place in the Hall of Fame. I hope it paves the way to get Chad Johnson, AJ Green, Andrew Whitworth and Geno Atkins their Canton due as well
Ogunjobi. Hendrickson. Awuzie and Hilton.
Follow with Reiff, Golladay and Trai Turner and this could turn into a nice start of spring for the Bengals.
🤞🏻
Mahomes is 24 yrs old.
Tyreek Hill is 26.
Mecole Hardman is 22.
Kelce is 30.
Watkins is 27.
Clyde Edwards-Helaireis 21.
Damien Williams is 28.
Do THAT math...
Aside from the”quarterback hit” comment, is this celebratory behavior of a guy in a position that should be as unbiased as possible look odd to anyone else?
This is just a weird look.
This is what they do. It’s in their DNA. Heck, it even comes from the coaches. They did this stuff the first time against the Bengals this year & they ignored it—Cincinnati just beat them on the scoreboard.
The Bengals need to repeat that Sunday cause Steelers will try it again.
I’m actually pretty surprised more people haven’t been talk about how the
#Bengals
’ start to this season is weirdly similar in so many ways to their first two games last year.
In a year where the NFL is going overboard to protect quarterbacks, this wasn't called on
#Steelers
DE/LB T.J. Watt on
#MNF
. Leading with his helmet and elbow to Andy Dalton's head, as he is on the ground being tackled.
I mean...what?
“The talent is there, the production wasn’t always. Traits the Bengals will love.” - Mel Kiper, Jr on Tycen Andersen
“How can you not love what the Cincinnati Bengals have done this offseason—between free agency & the draft. the Bengals are here to stay” - Louis Riddick
🤷🏻
Source: Free agent DL Mike Daniels is visiting the
#Bengals
and taking a physical. If all goes well, the long-time
#Packers
stalwart, who played last year for the
#Lions
, could get his reboot in Cincy.
BTW for
#Bengals
fans freaking out, this was literally a carbon copy of 2021 Week 2 vs Bears and 2021 Week 5 vs Packers.
I think we just hoped they learned/grew in some respects
The Bengals made 7 major outside free agent moves this offseason (Reader, Bell, Alexander, Waynes, Su’a-Filo, Bynes & Daniels). Of those, five have/will have missed at least 1 game by Week 6 & four are/will be on the newly-formatted IR (Reader, Waynes, XSF, Daniels)
Devastating.
When
#Bengals
drafted Joe Burrow, EVERYONE said “they’ll ruin him”, “not committed to winning”, etc. Two AFCC Games & a Super Bowl appearance later, CIN keeps adding big Free Agency gets, while one of the best-run orgs in the NFL (
#Ravens
) can’t keep their franchise QB happy.
Friendly & overlooked reminder: T-Boyd opted to re-sign a solid contract to remain in Cincinnati last offseason. This was with an entirely new staff (one that didn’t draft him) & his arrival being after playoff appearance streak. He could’ve bailed.
Eighty-three knows what’s up.
The way the media talk so down on us (Cincinnati Bengals) is really absurd. The disrespect is crazy but it's life all it consist of is proven people wrong.
There are Bengals fans who are celebrating the benching of Andy Dalton. A lot of us have been critical of the guy over the years, but I've personally said that I had always hoped it had worked out for him & the team. A really good guy. A sad, but necessary day, unfortunately.
Since he got injured/left,
#Bengals
have quietly missed what Larry Ogunjobi brought them inside (7 sacks, 12 TFL), in 21. Some nice projects on the roster, but pass-rushing IDL has to be high on offseason list
Think back to when Geno Atkins dominated & his effect on Cincy’s D 🤔
Ja’Marr Chasehas a touchdown reception in each of his first three pro games. They have been from 34, 42 and 50 yards.
Crazy added dimension to Bengals’ offense this year.
Admittedly, I'm not great great at Twitter, but I'm looking to follow some
#Bengals
fans to fill the TL, as this is the biggest weekend in/for Cincinnati in a while. Give me suggestions for good follows I may have overlooked/not known about (or thought I was already following).
For those keeping tabs, the “seemingly/reportedly/openly frustrated with newer Bengals coaching staff” since the start of last season, sits at:
-Cordy Glenn
-Shawn Williams
-A.J. Green
-Carlos Dunlap
-Geno Atkins
-Auden Tate
-John Ross
-Darius Phillips
Did I miss anyone?
“I did not sense a ton of doom-and-gloom from inside the building about the Joe Burrow injury.”
“It didn’t sound to me like this is a catastrophic situation.”

I love how they keep talking about the whistle that they believe should have replayed the Boyd touchdown play, but no one is saying how the whistle shouldn’t have been blown in the first place
Nick Wright sees the Bengals as the 4th best team this weekend.
"The Bengals are here despite the fact they don't have a lot of other great players on the team... they're not coming into Kansas City and winning."
Motivation is free. But we always appreciate a little extra
I love “Uno’s” reaction...
But watch Trey Hendrickson, too. He’s physically exhausted, can’t watch the kick because he’s nervous and he just does the emotional relief “I can’t believe it, I can’t move” thing.
This team, man.
I’m pretty private about personal stuff, but if you all can say a 🙏🏻/keep a good thought for my son today, I’d appreciate it. He’s going in for a routine/common procedure, but needs anesthesia. He’s only 2 & it’s his first surgery, so I’m in my head about it. Appreciate you all.
Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert combined for 7 TD passes and 1 INT in divisional road games versus Steelers and Chiefs, respectively.
Future of the NFL stuff right there
The Cincinnati Bengals have scored 31 points in offensive drives right before halftime through six games this year (5.2 points per game average).
They’ve also scored 27 points in their second half-opening possessions (4.5 points average per game).
A huge reason they’re 4-2.
Hey. I’m pretty private about my personal life & I don’t like publicly asking for this type of thing, but my family & I are going through tough things right now. Any prayers/thoughts/good vibes/well-wishes are massively appreciated, as we hope to get a positive outcome.✌🏻&🧡
1 thing I’ve noticed about these new Bengals, is the loose, cool, confidence. Joey B has it. Ja’Marr seems to. Tee does. Boyd. Bates. Mike Daniels. When you’re confident in your skill set it’s there, but also when you come from teams w/🏆s & big wins. They’re all over the roster.
You know what’s great about the Capps news with the
#Bengals
? They pivoted off the loss of Jensen right away and showed aggressiveness in fixing their biggest issue (OL) at the onset of
#FreeAgency
. Not being passive off of the Super Bowl appearance. Good work. More to do.
Per PFF, new Bengals OG, Xavier Su’a Filo played 307 snaps in 2019, with 1 penalty and 1 sack allowed. 60.1 overall grade last year.
He started 12 games the past two seasons for Cowboys & 41 over first four seasons with Texans.
Depth/competition guy for vacancy at RG.
In three consecutive weeks, 3 of the then-top AFC teams suffer bad road losses as big favorites:
Week 8: Bengals at Jets
Week 9: Bills at Jaguars
Week 10: Ravens at Dolphins
Week 6 Chargers got stomped by Ravens in Baltimore, but LA wasn’t a favorite.
Translation: wide open AFC
Highlights from Joe Burrow on Colin Cowherds show:
-taking it easy this week, watching 🏈
-felt like Browns loss came down to 5-6 plays, even though Bengals played poorly
-Still really likes where team is into bye, as both he & CC referenced Bucs’ 7-5 record going into 2020 bye
