Arlington County Police say this all began when officers were dispatched to a home around 4:45 this afternoon for reports of a flare gun being shot out of a home. A neighbor provided us this video of a flare gun going off around that time, plus pictures of the aftermath:
Plenty of Arlington County Police officers at Burlington/Edison near Ballston. Officers tried serving a suspect a warrant, but police officials say that suspect fired off multiple flare gun rounds, before an explosion happened at that home.
Pretty big update, since Gov. Abbott claimed in a press conference the day after the Uvalde shooting that he just stopped in for a few moments to tell those at the fundraiser he could not stay:

UPDATE: As officers were attempting to execute a search warrant at the residence, the suspect discharged several rounds inside the home. Subsequently, an explosion occurred at the residence and officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the explosion.
Something to monitor: The Uvalde City Councilman who represents Dist. 3 told me Uvalde CISD Police Chief Pedro Arredondo, the man who told officers to wait in the hallways outside the classroom where the shooter was, recently won election for his seat, but has not been sworn in.
