There’s a reason men like @joe_rigney and @JaredLongshore moved their families to Moscow. They understand how special it is there and what an incredible man and Christian leader Doug Wilson truly is.

Biblically, the measure of a man’s character and ministry effectiveness is his family. This being the case, Wilson is second the none. The emphasis on family, community, worship and education is truly remarkable. They’re doing something special in Moscow.

By far, Wilson was the kindest, most gentle, hospitable, generous and approachable. Wilson must have given us at least 15 hours of his time this weekend, allowing us to talk with him and ask any question we wanted. He was an open book.

There are roughly 400,000 churches in North America. Approximately, 80-90% of those churches are either plateaued or declining in attendance. This is common knowledge, but we also need to ask the question: why are these churches dying? Here are 10 contributing factors. 🧵👇

What's the BIGGEST challenge in leading a small church? Arguably, it's YOUTH and CHILDREN's ministry. This is a problem every small church pastor faces. Youth ministries are necessary for survival and growth but they're hard to build from scratch. But it's not impossible!

@D_B_Harrison I think you’re right. It’s not the church’s mission to change the culture. When people get saved, they contribute to positive cultural change as a result of their conversion and discipleship. But to make cultural changes apart from salvation is missing the point.

What is replanting? Replanting is when a healthy church helps restart a dying church. The dying church is tired, out of resources, and closure seems inevitable. The healthy church provides leaders, a core team, resources, joins the dying church and it thrives once again.
