Last night my laboring patient had been pushing for over an hour and pauses between contractions and goes, “y’all… I even took a plan B!!! I did not expect to be here!!”
I laughed so hard 😂
Just finished my last clinical responsibility of medical school! The next time I see a patient, I’ll introduce myself as Dr. Bumpous. It’s been a WILD past 4 years 🥹👨🏻⚕️

Severely underestimated how isolating starting residency would feel. Moving across the country from my friends, family and everything I know, plus the insane pressure of residency is a lot.
my favorite day of the year, national margarita day (and my birthday) 🤩
feeling grateful for all of the amazing people in my life and so excited for all the future holds 💞
Just submitted my ERAS application! Feels super weird knowing that I just applied for a job as a doctor. Growing up, I always felt like this was a dream that would never come true. Feeling extremely grateful today 🥺
My first rotation is in the ED and not gonna lie it’s been soooo difficult but thank goodness for all the kind nurses who have been patient with me, taught me, and nudged me in the right direction with gentle suggestions 🫶🏼
I still can’t believe I’m moving to South Carolina and starting my first job as a physician. It FINALLY feels like I have some control over my life after so many years of not 🥹🥹🥹
Learned so much and had the absolute best time on Pediatric Anesthesiology at Arkansas Children’s Hospital! Thankful for the opportunity to learn from so many GREAT attendings and residents. On to adult anesthesiology!
@UAMS_Anes
Finished my month long AI in the MICU last week! I learned so much from my wonderful residents and attendings and loved every minute taking care of my patients. I love Critical Care! Can’t wait to learn so much more as an intern 🥰
had my first surgery today and all I remember about the OR was the anesthesiologist telling me that the medicine might burn and I mumbled “propofollllll” as I passed out 😂😴
most of my life has been spent constantly trying to please everyone else and feeling spread too thin and overwhelmed. learning to not feel guilty for choosing myself anymore.
I just wanna say I love being a medical student and having the opportunity to learn to be a physician. My heart is so full. I love it here. I’m so happy that this is that path I’m on.
Last night I found a card that was given to me by a patients family when I was working as a Patient Care Tech before medical school. It was the exact thing I needed to read in the midst of interview invite chaos. Staying focused and positive ✨
These are a few of my current fav houseplants and my outdoor plants! Three alocasias, begonia maculata & amphioxus, and string of dolphins (with monstera adansonii in the back)!
