What if I told you that all you have to do is: -Take coconut oil - Vigorously swish for 20 min - do that morning and night for 40 days And you *might* get a 20% reduction in salivary bacterial count, with minimal difference in plaque and inflammation. That’s oil pulling.

Nano hydroxyapatite remineralize the teeth differently than fluoride. It adds hydroxyapatite to the holes in the tooth, which is what it’s already made of. Fluoride interrupts the chain, sticking a fluoride ion into the hydroxyapatite rods in enamel, making it fluorapatite.

Biohacker @bryan_johnson is known for his quest to immortality and spending millions on his endeavor to reverse aging. While his oral care may look unremarkable, it still puts him in the 99th percentile of oral hygiene. If I had 2M devoted to optimal health, here's how I'd make

This is your friendly reminder that a tongue scraper will blast bad breath better than any mouthwash. Don’t let bad breath cost you the deal, promotion, girl, etc. People remember bad breath.

Do you have notches on your teeth by the gum? These are often confused with gum recession but they're a little different. They are called Abfractions, or Non-Carious Cervical Lesions (NCCL). Very few dentists understand how they arise and blame it on grinding, but that's only

Great veneers are worth the price of admission. This is some work by Matt Nejad (based in LA). No one goes up to this person and asks where they got their teeth done because well… They look like her teeth just..better.

Cavities are 100% preventable & caused by bacteria. >50% of the population has them making it the most common disease in the world. Streptococcus Mutans is a bacteria that clings to your teeth, eats sugar from your diet and poops acid. The acid eats your tooth and BOOM cavity.

Soaking sectioned teeth in different acidic beverages Which one do you think had the strongest demineralization effect? (PS Ketchup didn’t turn the tooth blue, it was from the labeling ink)

Saw an emergency patient, infected tooth that needed to come out. Removed the tooth & started bleeding like an open fire hydrant. Bled for 2 hours before I could get him to clot. Had kidney failure, didn’t think it was important to let us know. Always give a full med history.

Dry mouth can destroy your teeth faster than any amount of sugar or acid. Sometimes it can happen at such an alarming rate, you may have multiple teeth go from healthy to hopeless between 6 month visits.

In order to remineralize a tooth, you need available calcium and phosphate. The body cannot remineralize in an acidic environment. Saliva is the body's defense and provides these nutrients to the teeth, but there are other ways to optimize mouth for maximum remineralization.

Fixing gum recession is one of the most requested topics I get. If this is something you’re interested in, we need to start by realizing it’s a symptom not a condition. There are 20+ reasons why your gums could be receding, and how you stop/treat it will depend on the cause.
