Boise Police are searching for a missing 11-year-old named Rebecca or Becky for short. Becky was last seen playing outside her home near Cherry Lane and Vista around 4pm on Friday. If anyone has seen Becky please call police at 208-377-6790.

BPD is investigating a shot fired in the area of protestors at the Capitol. NO ONE WAS INJURED. The shooter is in custody. At this time it’s being investigated as an unintentional or accidental discharge. The protest continues to be calm and there are no other acts violence.
Five people and a Boise Police officer were injured in this event. Police are making notifications to family of those involved and continuing to clear the mall.

Boise police have secured the scene of an officer involved shooting near W. Myrtle and S. Capitol Blvd. The injured subject was rushed to a local hospital. The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force has been activated to investigate. More information will be available soon.
Officers continuing to work their way though the mall to clear each business. It is expected to take a little while. We have no further information indicating additional threats at this time.

Update: Great news! Marcus, Mindy, Ambria and Scout have been found safe and are heading home. The family spent the night in their truck near Spring Shores after getting stuck. Snowmobilers found them today & were able to pull them out. Thanks to everyone who shared the message.
It is with great sadness that the Boise Police Department shares the news that retired BPD Captain Vern Bisterfeldt passed away yesterday. He served his community honorably for 53 years as an officer, Boise City Council member and Ada County Commissioner.

BPD and Fish and Game officers located a young black bear in a tree near 26th street north of Hill Road today around 12:15 p.m. The bear was safely tranquilized and taken to a safe location by 2:00 pm.

In just a few hours on Friday night Boise Police issued 30 citations to drivers downtown and on I84. Most of the citations were for excessive speed, exhaust, and other equipment violations.

At 5:15 pm BPD responded to a report of a person with a gun inside the Boise Towne Square Mall. BPD quickly detained several juveniles and officers located two air soft guns. The investigation is ongoing and the scene is secure.

Multiple agencies responded to the Boise Towne Square Mall for a report of shots fired outside the mall. At this time there is no evidence of shots being fired, and there are no reports of injuries. Responding officers have determined that there is no ongoing threat.

8:46 pm Boise Police responded to a man with a knife. Officers arrived by 8:50 pm and located the suspect and took him into custody. The suspect is a 30-year-old male.

Police activity in Downtown Boise. Drivers are asked to avoid Main Street and Idaho Street from 6th to 11th. Officers are investigating a series of serious crashes. The suspected driver has been located and the investigation is ongoing. (1/2)
Bike officers spent some time walking the crosswalks near Rhodes Park after noticing drivers not stopping for pedestrians in the area.
During the 1st directed patrol, motor units stopped 24 drivers and handed out 20 citations.
This time 24 drivers were stopped and 12 were cited.
