To fans of this show & these actors your voice has a lot of clout! Let
@Crunchyroll
know how you feel! To voice actors everywhere, this is not how you want to break into the biz! Stay away from this re-cast! Respect from your fellow performers is priceless! And karma is a bitch!
Big year for Looney Tunes! Porky turns 85 today. Bugs is 80 this year. Next week marks my 30th year voicing the pig. And fortunately with our new

(Hugs) I remember when Janet Waldo called me in tears when she found out she was being replaced in the Jetson’s movie. Here’s a lesson 2 those seeking a career in vo, & that includes celebs.

2 taking another thriving actor’s character. Karma’s a bitch! And fans care!
People keep asking what I think of
#SCOOB
and honestly I probably won’t ever be able to watch it. I’m certainly not saying that YOU shouldn’t but to listen to someone else doing the voice I’ve done for over 20 years is just too painful for me. Jeepers...I’m sorry! 💜

For the record, I
#like
@MarkHamill
who is one of the kindest, most generous, giving and accepting of all people in our galaxy, as well as galaxies far, far away. Oh, and he's also a pretty bitchen voice actor. Jussayin!
I teach cartoon vo classes around the country. It's very rare I say 2 a student,"You've GOT 2 get 2 LA! You are THAT good!"
@bradvenable
was 1 of the few. He had the "it" factor. His career in LA was just taking off. He loved this business and his fellow voice actors. RIP
Bless you
@tomhanks
for so accurately sharing what it’s like to record a cartoon! It’s nice to know you/Woody have the same in booth experiences as I/Porky and the rest of our fellow toon voice actors!
Hey gang! On my Instagram I’m doing daily 1 minute video tips on voice acting, creating characters & the business of vo. If interested join my Insta @ Bergen.bob & spread the word. I got 1000s of nuggets to share.

Even better, in 2019 I was honored to work side by side with so many former students! That is the ultimate joy!
I’m Bob. My goal in life since I was 5 was to voice Porky Pig, whom I’m proud to have voiced now going on 30 years, as well as many other characters in the world of toondom. I also have the honor of coaching the next generation of cartoon voice actors.
#ThisIsAnimation
Just a quick note.
@Jimcummingsacme
is one of the most talented, kindest, most decent individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure to know and work with. Now, he has spit on me a few times doing Taz, but it was all in the name of art. You rock, buddy!
Here's a tip. Rather than mimicking catchphrases/lines from cartoons read the newspaper in character. If U can master new dialogue in character U own the character. One audition round 4 the original Space Jam they had me perform Hamlet as Porky 2 test my acting/vocal skills.
So me and the wife were watching
@VanityFair
featuring
@BobBergen
& we watched 2 videos of him one of him doing improv &the other of him reviewing impressions .. anyway long story short it made me want to “ATTEMPT “ a new impression
~Marvin Martian~
Not long after Space Jam I recorded a pitch trailer for a Duck Dodgers feature film. I voiced Dodgers and Marvin. Cadet wasn’t in it. This project went through many layers of development and changes and eventually became the series. I would love for WB to do a feature!
Streaming animation on Netflix/Hulu, etc., does not have to pay minimum scale wages or residuals for VO actors as they are contractually obligated to do so for on camera actors. Cartoon VO actors just want the same minimums as on camera actors on streaming tv.
When hired to host the kid's version of Jeopardy! called Jep! I hesitated accepting the gig because I feared I could never come close to the genius that was Alex. I was correct. Answer: In the world of game shows he was the best of the best. Who was Alex Trebek. R.I.P.
Well, it woulda been fun to have been asked to do audio commentary on the discs. However, I'm thrilled about this release! One of the most enjoyable

projects I ever worked on. Plus, I look forward to the

Jussayin!
To celebrate tomorrow’s cast and crew screening of the first batch of
@WBLooneyTunes
#cartoons
shorts I’m reposting this moment when a group taking
@warnerbrostours
happened upon the guys who voice the toons.
Here's the real test. Imitating catch phrases/known lines helps ya find the voice. Read a paragraph from the front page of any newspaper. See if you can effortlessly own the voice, keep it conversational but still relay the story w/out losing the integrity of the character. ;-)
Interesting fact, this was the stage show Mel Blanc was voicing when I crashed that recording session when I was a teen in the late 70s. “Bugs Bunny in Space.” Before they named Marvin Marvin. He was Antwerp in this show.
Appreciate that. Here's the deal. There's so much to being an actor that is out of our control. You cannot let the good times go to your head and you cannot let the bad times go to your heart. No matter where you are in your career, there will always be highs and lows.
We are pleased to report SAG-AFTRA members voted 98.27 percent YES in favor of a TV Animation strike authorization. Voting closed today, July 18, and ballots were tabulated by Integrity Voting Systems.
Dear younger self, In 2019 you will be in your 29th yr voicing Porky Pig. You will be invited into
@TheAcademy
along w/the likes of
@ladygaga
@1jamiebell
joining fellow actors
@tomhanks
and
@LauraDern
to name a few. Seriously, don't change a thing! It's all gonna turn out OK!
Social media has created this e-generation who feel value by the number of followers/likes. A narcissism that demands the need to be noticed. Oversharing everything in life, which includes the “I can’t talk about it but yay for me” NDA hint. It’s the definition of unprofessional.
Voice actors: if I may offer a suggestion, keep your NDAs to yourselves. Not the details of the project, that goes without saying. I mean the NDA itself.
It’s pointless to publicly announce that you have something you can’t talk about, and it can come across as inexperience. 1/2
This is such an important message. So often when we don’t get booked we have no idea why, or who found our read valuable. Actors should never take rejection as a reflection of our talent. There are too many factors involved in casting. But all will remember a great read!
Today, without realizing it, met a casting director I have been auditioning for for over a decade. She mentioned that she saved EVERY audition so she can go back and reference when she’s on the fence... 1/2
One of my career highlights was guesting w/

@blumspew
is not just one of my personal vo heroes, he’s one of the finest, kindest guys I know, in or out of show business. And a champion for his fellow vo performers and the industry of professional vo.
I got no tips! I’m just a half assed occasional Luke. Don’t come close to the Jedi master. And we’ve worked on several of the same projects, but never together in the booth. Perhaps 2020 will find us sharing the mic rather than a quick hi in the lobby. I’d love that!

Loved playing this demonic book. Seems to be very popular at the cons. I've signed many a fan made Necronomicon prop. If you listen carefully you will hear an early/evil version of Bucky from The Emperor's New Groove. VO actor tip: We recycle voices but adjust for character!

...I just re-auditioned for Porky Pig 4 the umpteenth time. Our job is 2 audition. I love your short/sweet answer
@MarkHamill
This is how it works most of the time, folks. Usually u audition. Sometimes u get new gigs based on previous gigs/relationships. But it is not the norm.
Shame on those who tried 2 shame Geoffrey Owens. There is no shame in paying your bills, no matter what u did before. This is not a news item of shame. It's a news item of admiration. We live in a society where news & social media lives 2 play gotcha. Shame on that!
Honest work is honorable. Most actors are not millionaires and even consistent acting work does not mean a living wage. Unions like

are vital to stop professions from becoming hobbies.

I did a test in my home studio with a game company who wanted to compare my studio to previous sessions we did in another studio. Since we used a 416 before they asked me to hook up mine. The damn thing sounded awesome! So, I’ve decided I’m now a 416 fan!
#homestudiosoundsgreat
1-A coach who preaches "make $ @ vo"
2-agents who demand upfront money
3-a vo workshop that comes with a demo upon completion
4-anyone who guarantees you will work
5-a coach who doesn't push beyond a student's comfort zone
6-a coach who'd rather be loved than offer tough love
Gotta get on the bandwagon w/my amazing buddy
@blumspew
& our fellow vo pros. NO studio has the right to reuse my past work for future content w/AI technology w/out my permission! If you are a voice actor scream this to the heavens/your agents/
@sagaftra
Thank you
@VocalVariants
Hey friends, I know AI technology is exciting, but if you see my voice or any of the characters that I voice offered on any of those sites, please know that I have not given my permission, and never will. This is highly unethical. We all appreciate your support. Thank you.
Just to give you some perspective, I studied vo for 4 yrs with every coach LA had to offer. I spent 2 years at an acting conservatory and 3 yrs studying improv. After securing my first agent it took another 5 yrs before I was able to make a living at this.
@BobBergen
Hey just wanted to say that I love your work. I have a question. I have had people tell me that I should get into voiceover work and even though I have zero experience, I’ve been performing stand up comedy for nearly 11 years and Improv for 3 years. So any advice?
Lots of productions shutting down in
#Hollywood
. So far it hasn’t hit the

#vo
biz. But if it does perhaps I can take advantage of my massage therapist license. (Yes, I’m a licensed massage therapist) Just need to figure out how to do it via Skype. 😉
Tomorrow starts year 32 teaching my cartoon vo workshop. When it comes to creating characters/acting choices it's all about specifics. Best example of this came from my friend/fellow animation coach
@DebiDerryberry
"If your character has a cold I wanna hear boogers!"
Tonight I made roast duck to ring in the New Year. No offense to

We never eat our own! This duck was delicious, but never animated. Happy eh-nuh-neh-eh-New Year, folks!
Oh, this is funny. I’ve never had my room rated. If I turn on the lamp it reflects on the mirror and casts an odd backlight on Zoom. My show biz buddies keep me company when they start talking. 😉
Here’s a lesson I learned from one of my guru teachers, Daws Butler. “Don’t let the good reviews go to your head, and don’t let the bad reviews go to your heart. Long as the acting was fun and fulfilling, that’s all that counts.” 😉
OH, this again! This is common. Just cuz U do a pilot doesn't guarantee U a job when it goes to series, especially w/an indie pilot going from non-union 2 union. Animation is the only vo contract that is well over 90% union. Networks/studios want top talent 2 carry a series.
@BobBergen
Title is Hazbin Hotel. Going from indie pilot to A24-produced TV series, and from NU to union. Prior cast not automatically brought back, many of them NU.
Do funny voices? Then get serious! Join me & this panel of top vo agents (both of whom have repped my career over the years) the amazing actress & vo coach

I had the pleasure of chatting w/

Just a preview of what to look forward to with our new Looney Tunes Cartoons shorts in 2019. I am honored and one pleased pig to be a part of this!
@AnimationWarner
#LooneyTunes
So, here's the deal. Actors have no say as to why they get cast or not. It is what it is. I was as surprised as everyone else when I saw the film as I had recorded Tweety. Ya cannot complain when this sort of thing happens after a 40 plus year career. Gratitude goes a long way!
Spending the day in the writer's room working on my upcoming book w/co-writer extraordinaire Shelly Goldstein, or as I like to call her Shelly from the deli as our previous writer's room has been at a deli. Making it real today as we take things up a notch rather than up a nosh!
Ok, work with me here: Eh-muh-meh-eh-May the Force be eh-wuh-weh-eh-May the Force be eh-wuh-weh-eh-wuh-weh-eh...oh...eh-juh-jeh-eh-just stay away from the eh-duh-deh-eh-duh-deh-eh-Dark Side, folks! 😉
One of the new Looney Tunes shorts played during an outdoor screening at

tonight and just look at the insanely great work of
@PeterBrowngardt
and crew!
Thank U Mr. Spinney. As a 2nd character generationer I’m comforted your bird/grouch will live on in the voice/hands/body of other loving & talented artists whom I also admire & respect. But I know there’s nothing like the original. Say hi 2 Mr. Henson, Mr. Disney, & Mr. Rogers.
Study acting & improv. Hone those skills, then study vo. I spent 4 yrs studying vo, 2 yrs at an acting conservatory, 3yrs improv. I networked & rubbed elbows w/major vo players. Then secured my first agent. Then it took 5 yrs B4 I was able to make a living.

Your head and heart are both heroes of mine. Jussayin! I was 5 when Sesame debuted. I'm 60 on March 8. I do voices for cartoons. You and Jim influenced me as an actor. Nothing has changed. It has just been handed down! Thank you! xoxo!
....and, we aren’t even in sessions together! All recorded individually. What you are hearing is an outstanding job by our amazing voice director
@MaryEMcGlynn
The home studio keeps getting upgrades! Just installed an iPad holder so as to better see/be seen for Zoom directed cartoon sessions. Also need to work on my posture. My neck looks like E.T. got frightened by a screaming Drew Barrymore.
I wish I had a more interesting reason. Producers just went another way. 4 those who've sent me your "where can I write?" DMs they are SO appreciated but so not necessary. Support this film. Lots of artists worked hard to make it. Trust me, I got lost more pig ahead of me. ;-)
It’s
