We found a dog in our road last night. We went out to check it was ok and see if we could call it over. It ran over to say hi and we popped a lead on it. It’s mum came rushing along saying the window cleaner had left the gate open and my friend had got out. Happy ending. Phew!

I’m in so much trouble. Mum made shortbread last night for a work bake off. She took a nice photo for the competition. Then she went upstairs. I don’t know what happened, I passed out momentarily, but when I came around they were gone........

Mum has been out for pancakes after getting her results. A little bit of background, the hospital and GP were thinking she had endometrial cancer. Today she found out that the biopsy results were benign. Small op in 2 weeks and she should be back on her feet in no time.

Two years ago this gorgeous boy left this life. He was a sweet, clever and funny boy. He loved sitting in the middle of the road and watching me struggle with 30kg of collie. I miss him very much.

Mum just had a phone call from her IT dept. He is dropping a new laptop to her tomorrow and asked what time she’d be home. ‘I won’t be here between 11 & 1 as it’s my dog’s birthday and I’m taking him out’. He was most amused and probably thinks mum is a bit odd. Which is right.

Hi all! Sorry we’ve not been around much. Mum is still unwell but she’s going to the hospital on Tuesday for tests. She’s taking lots of painkillers so she’s mostly asleep. We’ve bonded over sleeping so much, and I’ve been keeping her feet warm. Hope you’re all well and happy. ❤️

I fell asleep on my own bed last night. This is a first for me. I generally sit in it and nibble a blanket. Last night I fell asleep in it. I’ve been here since September so mum was really chuffed. She’s let me take things at my own pace and it’s working.

Sorry we’ve been quiet. After mum’s op last month she’s got to have another one very soon. It’s something called a hystericalectomy I think. Maybe she’ll start being funny afterwards. We can only hope.

Sorry we’ve been a bit quiet. Mum was at the hospital yesterday and had some biopsies. We’ve got to wait two weeks for the results, so she’s a little up and down. She came home yesterday and went to sleep as she was quite washed out. As always though, onwards etc.

I woke mum up with my crying. I got on the bed with her but I was still crying. She can’t find anything obvious. We went for a quick walk to see if it’s anything obvious, but it’s not legs/paws. Currently cuddled on the sofa with mum watching over me.

Mum’s friend is fostering a dog who is a bit barky. Their neighbour mentioned it and her friend apologised and explained the dog only knows Welsh, and they’re all learning Welsh so they can talk to the dog. Neighbour seemed satisfied with this fantastic piece of fibbing.

Mum has had her final pre assessment today. It’s all go for a hystericalectomy on Monday. Lots to do beforehand, but she’s physically ready. They had to do an ultrasound on her heart as a final check. Turns out it’s not a cold stone after all. ❤️

Mum has lots of tests today for her broken old body. She’s been awake all night, but I slept next to her so she was safe. I’m doing my best ‘I’m worried face’. (This is actually my ‘look into my eyes, give me food’ face, but she thinks I’m worried so i won’t correct her)

Mum here. Just some thoughts. When our dogs, cats or whoever we share our lives with leave us, we mourn so hard for them. They give us such joy. I believe they show us the best part of ourselves too. When I’ve been with any of my dogs, I’m nearly always the best version of me.

We’re sorry we disappeared yesterday. Mum’s uncle passed away. He and mum loved dogs so much and it was their common bond. Mum is glad his dogs will be waiting for him OTRB 🌈 they were his world.

Mum is waiting for her Covid test result. Had to have one yesterday as she has a cough and someone she knows now has it. She had an early night as she was feeling tired. Paws crossed she’s ok.

Went to the Dogs home. Mum sat in the car and cried as she saw the happy little dogs going out for their walks, and some returning. My poor friends. They are safe, but I hope they find loving homes soon. ❤️

Grampy lost his best friend yesterday. He was very sad. We took him to Barry Island this morning for a nice walk and a sausage bap for breakfast. He shared his breakfast with me, which is more than mum did. Good old Grampy.
