Delighted to announce that Blacon High School has been awarded £4000 by Airbus in the 2019 Community Awards which will mean we can buy a therapy dog for school. Thanks to Mr Carr, students who represented the school so well today, to everyone for voting and to Airbus.

Sue Yates retires as Headteacher of Blacon High School on Friday 21st December. Community members, ex-students, parents and colleagues are warmly invited to our farewell get together this Friday at 1:15pm to wish her well.
Meet Betty, our youngest member of Team Blacon! We welcomed Betty into school just after Christmas and she has been in training since day 1 to be an additional therapy dog, alongside Paddy.The students love her and it's fair to say she's the boss of Paddy already!

Fantastic Yr 7 Rewards Assembly today. Parents joined us for the celebration as students received certificates for achievement in each subject area and also for outstanding attitude to learning.
Cherry blossom tree planted to mark the start of the reinstated memorial garden to remember Liam and other former students who have sadly passed away. Thanks to James and Jess for coming in to mark this.
We are so proud of Miss Beyer for completing the London Marathon yesterday in 5 hrs 48 secs and for raising £300 for Hospice of the Good Shepherd. What an incredible achievement!

We understand that our Year 11 students still have many questions and will keep you updated as we know more. On Friday, we are happy for shirt signing to take place with pizza in the hall after break and Year 11 finishing at 12.00. Only for students who have not self isolated.

This week we rewarded our students who had achieved the best SSA grades to a lunch out at La Fattoria in Chester. They had a great time and they were a credit to the school. We are so proud of you all for always putting in 100%!

Fraudsters are targeting families on free school meals, emailing parents saying ‘If your child is entitled to free school meals send your bank details to the school, they will help with funding while the school is closed’. The email contains links which are fake. This is a scam.
Our pupils on the Spanish trip are off to Port Aventura World today, as you can see, they are very excited and hoping to beat yesterday's step count of 27,000 steps! It is going to be a hot one 🌞🇪🇸 🎢

A Year 8 student at Blacon High School was knocked off his bike in an incident outside the main entrance this morning. The police & ambulance attended the scene, and the student is being looked after in the hospital. We send our best wishes to the student’s family at this time.
