Every few months, I visit one of the prisons within Melbourne. A few weeks ago I was at Loddon Prison, where some photos were taken. Obviously, the faces of the men can’t be shown, so here is a poem from one of them, a homemade rosary (made with paddle pop sticks), & during Mass.

The Gov has introduced a Bill on ‘conversion’ therapy. Any coercive practice is an affront to human dignity. I firmly reject such harmful acts; ppl need protection. But nobody is protected when Govs seek to determine what prayers are ok to say, or what faith reasonably proposes.

Today we visited the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Rather than a photo of Juan Diego’s Tilma with it’s miraculous image of St Mary (look it up on google), here’s a photo inside the dining area where 500 of the poorest pilgrims are fed daily by volunteers. Food for the journey.

There are now fire warnings for Bundoora, Mill Park and Greensborough (among many other areas), which are all within the Archdiocese of Melbourne. We may feel helpless in doing anything, but we can all pray for the safety of people, and for the firefighters.
