My lifetime best, set at 24, immortalised in tattoo ink, was 4:33:33. Today I did 4:37:35, 15 years on, after 2 operations this summer, having trained half the distance. I’ve literally no idea how that happened. Never doubt your ability to achieve the ridiculous. @parismarathon

RIP Keith Chegwin. As recently as June he’d asked a favour on Twitter and I was happy to respond. A couple of months later a bottle of gin turned up randomly at a gig venue for me from him. An absolute gentleman. They don’t make them like that any more.

At the risk of sounding sycophantic, this was a monumental effort to go from basically out for the count to vocal acrobatics (high C and above) in the space of a couple of hours. This man has the stamina of an ox. We give Jon a LOT of banter on the tour bus but this was top work!

Hit the wall with exhaustion yesterday and ended up sleeping all day backstage before the show, made it though show and enjoyed 12hrs kip @TheOxfordMal last night before getting my train home to the family. All worth it though!

Terrible news to hear of the death of Timmy @the_overtones today. Knew he’d been ill. Life is precious, people: don’t waste it. It seems Timmy left a huge footprint and that is all we can do, by doing the things that make us glow and inspire others to do the same. 36. My age. RIP

Don’t get why folk don’t get it. If you’ve been exposed, gov advice is clear. You isolate, regardless of money or anything else. Anything else is a risk; whilst losing money is HORRIFIC and petrifying, you can’t take it with you, this is the reality. Take it seriously folks. X
