Took my daughter well over an hour to get home every time she got the bus from Altrincham to sale along #A56 this week. But there’s no cycle lane so what could be causing this? If there was a segregated cycle lane and facilities at school could be a 25 min journey

Stopped cycling to work a while ago because family too worried. Over weekend I tried out new pop up cycle lane along #A56 installed by @TraffordCouncil @OneTrafford . Felt very safe. Nearly all segregated cycle lane. Will definitely be getting back on bike when back in office!

#A56 #popupbikelane Not felt this safe cycling on main road since I hired a bike in #Copenhagen . Some cone patterns look confusing but as get closer it’s clear what engineers are trying to do at junctions etc. Signage improving as well. [1/2]

Great to see @AndrewHWestern making the point that @TraffordCouncil one of lowest funded councils in the country. Nothing in #AutumnStatement to address this. Graham Brady and local Conservatives have done nothing to improve the funding available for Trafford residents.

In last week’s debate on the Autumn Statement, I spoke about the impact 13 years of Tory cuts has had on Trafford Council and the local services people in Stretford & Urmston rely on. The Government are ignoring the huge pressures facing councils across the country.

We narrowly escaped serious flooding in parts of #Trafford last night. I know a lot of council workers and leaders have been working into the small hours and overnight @TraffordCouncil @OneTrafford to keep residents safe for which they deserve huge thanks. So thank you!

Last year, @unitedutilities discharged sewage at 18 sites in #Altrincham & #SaleWest . Duration of discharges 2889 hrs (4 months) on average 2.2 times/day. Incl waterways like Bollin, Timperley and Sinderland Brooks and MSC. Plus 80 dumps into the Mersey from the Stretford side.

Today I've written to @MayorofGM to express strong opposition to the GMFRS proposal to move Sale Fire Station from 24 hr cover to daytime crewing. Consultation inadequate, data and rationale do not stack up and increased response times for residents are not acceptable.

I remember the poll tax non payment campaign. Thousands ended up with convictions. No help for people to avoid this. Likewise no help here to avoid credit scores being affected, bailiffs coming round, supply being cut off, being sued for debt plus interest/costs. Irresponsible

Had some planning committee visits to do. Thought I’d go by car to experience gridlock reported due to @TraffordCouncil #A56 #PopUpBikeLane . Sale 1730 > Old Trafford 1748. OT 1800 > Sale 1812 > Altrincham 1822 > Bowdon 1827. Traffic was slower though. Everyone driving at 30mph.

Last Feb Tory cllrs voted against council investing £22.5m in fixing our local roads. They also refuse to call for better funding settlement for @TraffordCouncil . We’re moving forward in really tough circumstances under @Trafford_Labour . Local Tories just want to hold us back.
