Okay so here’s how MPD works. An officer sends a racist email in 2012. Nobody cares until the DOJ finds it in 2021. For this she gets over a year of paid vacation. She comes back and 6 months later gets promoted to unit head. If I sent a racist email I’d just be fired.

Hot take (?): absolutely not for National reps ($140k is a lot!!), but 100% for state legislators — at least in MN. $48k is just not enough for folks who don’t have independent wealth, and especially if you’re single-income and trying to raise a family.
