My sister has to get a new car because hers was totaled. She said she wanted a $200 car payment. I gently said, "Sis, we need to talk..." I broke the news about the car industry, and she said her last car payment was $200. I reminded her that it was back in 2012.

My grandma told me it looks like I was gaining weight. I asked her why she felt the need to tell me that and looked her square in the face. No response. That was the nicest way I could tell her what she said was inappropriate. Older black women have to stop this.

My dad paid off a substantial sized student loan for me back in 2018 and I’ve been making payments to him at an almost non existent interest rate. Today he forgave the entire amount of the loan. I was stunned speechless. This is what legacy building looks like.

I interviewed for a large company and made it to the last round. They decided not to move forward because their system told them for a senior position I should only be making $106K in SC. My ask was a higher but within their range. They’ve reposted the job twice now.
