Dang. I forgot to mention their first place is an RV parked on mom & dad's property. And just for added context, dad is an attorney and mom has a degree in physics. These kids didn't come from poor, uneducated backgrounds. They were intentionally handicapped by fundy parents.

My wife runs a women's clinic. She received an email recently from a woman who had been so severely abused as a child that she was inquiring about anesthesia for a routine pap smear. It was that traumatic. Studies show clergy sexual abuse (any age) has a similar effect. #sbc2023

As a non-SBC Christian, I'm amazed by the dirty tricks of SBC politics. For a denomination that claims to be focused on missions and "winning souls," today's SBC seems focused on the opposite -- making Christianity so repulsive a million people a year run out the back door!

5. The SBC is so laser-focused on outlawing abortion they're willing to inflict pain on women with serious health problems and risk throwing our entire system into chaos. Here's an idea: Try putting your ideas on the ballot instead of relying on one activist Amarillo judge. /end

Dr. Akin's beloved CR made inerrancy a litmus test, and conservative Baptists were willing to turn a blind eye to Pressler and Patterson's obvious evil for decades (not just recently) to get their way. Don't believe without question. The root is rotten, and so is the fruit. /end

@Atticus59914029 You forgot New Mexico. Lived in Texas and here all my life. Best buddy was an "anchor baby" who became an engineer and later a Methodist minister. You can play golf at Eagle Pass golf course next to razor wire and troops. Immigration needs to be fixed, but it's not an invasion.

I'd like to invite all of Christian Twitter to pay attention to what's happening in Ukraine. Prigozhin and his Wagner private army have declared war against the Russian MoD/army. The Ru Air Force refused orders to attack Wagner. This might be the end for Putin and the Ukraine War

How do churches and Christian schools like Liberty U. fail to protect women from abuse? Liberty's HR dept. viewed the accused as "wholly credible because he was a 'man of God' and Doe 1 as incredible because she was attempting to 'smear a man of God.'" @KSPrior @laurchastain22

The politics of institutional life in the SBC aren't suited to women in general, let alone women in leadership. It's sad to say, but neither the SBC's politics nor its institutions will change until more women vote w/their feet. Godspeed, @KSPrior . You will land on your feet.
