Can you imagine how poor a major Kuwaiti company's governance and planning is that it can't pay any of its salaries after one month of stopping in March? This in a country with no taxes, subsidies on electricity/water, and soft loans with low-interest rates. I can't imagine it.

The kafala system is the greatest technical obstacle to Kuwait having a dynamic economy. Letting residents change jobs or employment type without penalty is the only way to build a private sector, which relies on knowledge transfer from non-citizens.

The only way to defeat the apartheid state is through sustained economic boycott. Nothing else is as effective, and no force on the globe can stop you from doing it. It is true power for the individual, and it's a choice. It worked in apartheid South Africa, and it can work
