It is with great sadness that today John Seeviour has died. John, who had been a regular birder from the 1970s at Wath Ings and Broomhill Flash and latterly the Old Moor area will be sadly missed. He was also a proud down-to-earth Yorkshire man and keen sports fan.
Broomhill Flash Update - Would all visitors to Broomhill Flash to see the Red Necked Phalarope please refrain from using tape lures for whatever reason. Shouldn't really have to ask but some people have asked if it's ok to do so? No it's not.

An Osprey was low over the Fleet at Wombwell Ings about 18.00 before drifting towards Broomhill. Water Pipit still on the Fleet viewable from Wombwell Ings.
Edderthorpe Flash - Black winged Stilt 2 adults and 3 young still on site, the young had a fly around this morning. Gt White Egret 1, Little Egret 4, Common Sandpiper 2.

Broomhill Village late news from Monday - 21st - Black Redstart 1 male seen in a Broomhill Garden, confirmed today after checking CCTV. Will be well looked for tomorrow.

Old Moor - Pintail 23 this morning, One down plus flocks of five and 17 over. Lots of birds moving this morning including Swallow, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Redpoll and Siskin.
Dearne Valley roundup, Wednesday - no sign of the female Black Wing Stilt today, adult Spoonbill and Greenshank at Edderthorpe. the tame Garganey still coming to bread on Manvers Lake.
Adwick Washland today - Pink Footed Goose - 32 NE at 09.21, c70 E at 09.27, c150 E high at 09.47, c120 NE at 10.00, Grey Heron 2, Little Egret 6, Wigeon 46, Lapwing 146, Golden Plover 5, Snipe 4, Grey Partridge (5, 6), Cetti's Warbler 1, Swallow 2.
Edderthorpe-the Russian White fronted Goose is still present with the Greylag flock, but spends most time in the fields to the west out of sight. Dunlin 1.
Bolton Ings tonight - Bittern 4 ( 1 at Eastern end + 3 together towards Old Moor), Goosander 13, Yellow Legged Gull 1 adult.
Old Moor tonight - Little Egret 9 roosting.
