For those keeping score, the Chargers have now had 4 TDs called back this season, and 3 of them have been EXTREMELY questionable calls. This is getting fucking ridiculous
Brady coming to the Chargers would help ease the transition away from Rivers by still having a QB who throws a game sealing INT, down by a score, under 2 minutes in the 4th.
For people trying to stay positive: Chargers were the only divisional team to keep Mahomes under 200 passing yards in both games, Intercept him in both games, and not allow him a multi passing TD game.
Chargers are 3 games under .500 at 5-8 and have a +38 point differential on the season.
The Raiders are 6-7 with a -108 point differential.
This league is weird
Rivers finishes 34/51 for 424 yards, 3 TDs and 1 Int. His targets dropped 7 (maybe 8 if I missed one) passes, 3 of which were SURE touchdowns. Mike Williams and Keenan Allen should be excused from the WR meeting on monday and the rest of them should be subjected to verbal abuse
Alright, guys. I'm out.
We all know what happened today. The Broncos did not beat the Chargers.
Double-digit penalties and the worst performance of the year did.
We move on. Good night.
What they've done to Austin Ekeler is also criminal, maybe more so because it's easily and quickly correctable. He was a top 5 most explosive and impactful player in the league before Gordon came back, and now he's an afterthought because of this staff
Anthony Lynn is going to end this season with as many wins as Mike McCoy had over the previous two seasons combined. A lot went wrong this year, but they're trending in the right direction.
For those trying to stay positive: Hunter Henry is still amazing. And the more Melvin Gordon sucks, the higher draft pick the Chargers will have, and the more money he loses this offseason.
This ranks pretty high on the list of 'Chargers ways to lose a football game.' Tune in for next week, when the coaches punish the RBs for that fumble by sitting Austin Ekeler and giving Gordon 32 carries for 47 yards.
Rivers rightfully screaming at the official. Yes it was delay of game, but you cannot blow the play dead then allow someone to get hit like that. I hate the officials.
Joey Bosa sack already. He is going to carry this team kicking and screaming to greatness. Love when Bosa and Ingram are on the same side. Damn near unblockable.
What a damn game. Chargers needed this so badly. Hope you guys had fun with me today. It's Raiders week!
Now...time to ask a guy about some cheese curds.
It is pretty outrageous. Marlon Mack was selected as an alternate over Ekeler.
Mack: 228 touches, 995 yards from scrimmage, 5 total TDs
Ekeler: 197 touches, 1392 yards from scrimmage, 11 TDs
@BFTB_Chargers
He's had a good year, but so have all the other guys. You can make a case for him being ahead of a couple guys but I don't think it's outrageous or surprising he didn't get in.
Rivers had a bad game today. No doubt. But to pin this loss on him is ignorant. The playcalling, clock management, missed tackles in the secondary, and TT's neglect of the OT position is to blame.
They literally put Isaac Rochell on a stunt that opened up the gap that Lindsay ran through to seal the game.
Just a joke. Whole team is a joke. (Minus Allen and Ekeler.)
A JOKE.
Melvin Gordon's "goal line" carries JUST TODAY, included 2 fumbles and trying to jump over the pile from the 4.5 yard line. But tell me more about how he's what this offense was missing.
The Chargers are hiring former Packers/Browns offensive line coach James Campen for the same position, a source said. No one expected one of the longest-tenured O-line coaches in the NFL to be out of work long, and now he's not. He's won a Super Bowl...
Rivers tanking for the Chargers so they can roll into a new era with a high draft pick, taking all the blame with him as he disappears into history. The hero we deserve, but not the one we need right now.
Yeah ok, I'm fine with firing Whiz. He gets cute in the least cute situations.
"Hey, let's throw in these useless motions that haven't fooled anyone to throw off the momentum of the offense."
Every. Single. Time.
With 6 minutes on the clock and down two scores, we're looking at the Chargers having more losses by October than they did all of last season.
Is this the end of Lynn, Bradley, Whisenhunt and Telesco?
'You just feel at some point that Gordon will break through'
Yes, Dan. In the same way that if you keep running into a wall you might end up becoming Harry Potter.
