BC's Innocence Program achieved its eighth exoneration since its founding in 2019. Erasmo Gutierrez was falsely convicted of arson, but BCIP students and staff attorneys worked tirelessly to vacate that conviction after an extensive re-investigation.

and New England Innocence Project client, spent 34 years in prison for a murder he did not commit. After a judge's order that vacated Rosa's convictions, his attorneys held a press conference where they discussed next steps.
On Tuesday, April 30, Elvio Marrero walked free from prison following his first degree murder conviction being vacated. Marrero was the eighth Boston College Innocence Program (BCIP) client whose wrongful conviction has been overturned since 2019.
