There was a "chef" visiting Milwaukee recently. He asked for food recommendations. The comments from Milwaukeeans ruined my day. Loud and wrong. Lots of "we don't have good food here - go to Chicago instead." Just say you don't have the opportunity to get out much.

My flight began boarding at 9:20 out of MKE. I walked into the airport at 9:20, went through tsa [precheck], and leisurely strolled to my gate. I boarded exactly when it was my time. Milwaukeeans know this is totally possible and true lol.

Hear me out, Milwaukee. If you've ever been to Parc in Detroit, that's what we need. Good food/drinks; glass architecture with retractable doors for the summer; weekend brunch; perfect "rest" spot for an activated downtown (urban beach in summer; outdoor movies; tree during xmas)

Also, if you have a Running Fit or equivalent, they will let you try on the shoes and run outside or on a treadmill to assess what's working (or not working) for you. The shoes are so so important. @niccoyat Yes, except hair and massages. I started wearing braids more bc they're easier and that cut down costs/time (at least in my city). I don't much care for massages. Look into bundling some of this stuff or getting a massage or facial monthly pass - will likely cut costs.

This happened to me before. 2 brothas (one I realized I knew after the fact) came out of the woodworks simply because they saw a man getting entirely too close to me. I felt protected and proud. I prayed for them both.

Today a black man who was a STRANGER, protected me in the face of harm. I hope God covers him. That shit so unheard of these days, it doesn’t cost to be decent. He feared nothing and said “no life should be compromised by the foolishness of men” Didn’t have to know me.
