The Citizenship Act of 1951 confers full rights of citizenship on those born in Pakistan. Both government policy and judicial declarations (like the Peshawar HC's) actively defeat the law. Deporting those who have known no other home, and have none to go to, is cruel and unjust.

It’s not a win for parliament when the constitution is amended by a rump assembly fearful of elections, instead of 2/3rds. Nor is it a win for judicial independence when a desperate law is passed to declaw the suo motu, right after the judges ordered polls be held in 90 days.

Have been saying for years ان سے نہیں بات ہو سکتی۔ The TTP isn’t some resistance group, or even a terrorist organisation with organic grievances. It’s a violent criminal racket, and it uses talks only as a ploy to regroup, and claw its way back in.
