The dark night skies at Arches make for great stargazing. One of the many exciting things you can see in the night sky are shooting stars. They aren't actually stars, but bits of dust and rock known as meteors. Tomorrow Oct. 22 will be the peak of the Orionids meteor shower!

Double the arch, Double the fun. Double Arch is the tallest arch in the park at 112 feet tall. It is also the second widest arch at 144 ft wide. That's pretty impressive if you ask us. The trail to get to Double Arch is .6 mile round-trip. 📸NPS/ Andrew Kuhn

The sego lily (Calochortus nuttallii) is the state flower of Utah. Despite its delicate and elegant looks, it is a truly hardy and practical plant. With a delicious potato-like flavor, sego lily bulbs have often been used for sustenance. 🥔 #WildflowerWednesday
