Its idiotic that Metroid Prime Remastered the 5th highest rated game this year with 100 reviews, has no nomination at The Game Awards.
Also Future Redeemed the best DLC adventure by far got the shaft.
If remakes and old games in VR can get in, so should these greats.

Nah, but maybe dont try to tell people what to make of 1st party announcements when you really don’t know. If you want to offer your opinion thats totally fine, and I encourage it. You have good perspective, but make sure to tell people its not based off any leaked info.
Kotaku has too often been the subject of a lack of professionalism. So I would argue that this is in no way a poor reflection of Nintendo but rather Kotaku.
It's preview day for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a huge game I would love for Kotaku to be able to inform its millions of readers about first-hand.
Unfortunately Nintendo still has it blacklisted from advanced coverage, a move I would argue is both unprofessional and coercive.
Maybe this is a hot take, but considering the 20-30 million Zelda fans and how vocal some of them are about wanting a more story centric game... you would think more would give Xenoblade a try. Another fantasy scifi Nintendo series with huge worlds to explore. But no they don't.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie was amazing. Don’t let the critics steer you otherwise. If you love Nintendo and fun adventures this is for you. Expect a lengthy review tomorrow 👀
Something I feel strong about regarding Tears of the Kingdom even a year after its release, is that it maybe has the best ending moments in games. They took feedback from Breath of the Wild and provided what I thought was a perfectly satisfying end. ⚔️💎🐲🐉🧚♀️🤝

Having just finished Metroid Prime Remastered and with Dread also fresh in mind, I can safely say I much rather Prime 4 be a brilliantly crafted interwoven world designed for multiple playthroughs, as opposed to a 100+ hour open world space shooter.
Wii U was NOT a golden era for Nintendo fans. It was one of their worst and the sales reflect that. An exclusive every 6 months is a nice way of saying we had consistent game droughts.
Every gen has its gems. I enjoyed my Wii U, but it was niche. Lets not revise history here.
@Spletz_
This thread really shows who owned a Wii U and who didn't. Wii U was a golden era for Nintendo fans. It felt like every 6 months you had a first party exclusive, and it was very good. MK8, DK Tropical Freeze, Bayo 2, Splat 1, HD Zeldas, Pikmin 3, Xenoblade X, 3D World, Mario
This is Furukawa, President of Nintendo. We will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year. It will have been over nine years since we announced the existence of Nintendo Switch back in March 2015. We will be holding a Nintendo Direct
I don't give a fuck about amazing production value+visuals. A great game is a great game. Just starting and so far, so good.
But given how much everyone goes ape shit over visuals, it's staggering how this game can look like this and not get at least a little dinged by reviews.
PSA: Metroid 4 is not Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Metroid 4 is the fourth 2D Metroid game called Metroid: Fusion which released in 2002 for Gameboy Advance. Excluding the “Prime” from the name changes a lot. If you can say Final Fantasy, you can say Metroid Prime.
Gen 9 IS coming out this year, and its looks better than expected! We’ll be having a discussion tonight at 8pm est about this confirmed open world Pokémon game and other Nintendo related things. See you there!
For those that don’t realize it, there are 139 million Switch 1’s out there. What this means is that Switch 1 will of course be there main business even if they sell 15 million Switch 2s this year. It takes time to transition over to being the primary platform.

Woah Youtube Gaming is pushing me as a go to for Tears of the Kingdom news and theories. An Analysis for today's trailer is in the works. The hype is overwhelming I must say!
@HypraSeaPea
Its partially because people are under the impression Pokémon have to fall under the construct of what we think animals are. Except even from from gen 1 we already had exceptions like Electrode and Grimer...I think people just look for stuff to complain about no matter what.
Not me. Tears of the Kingdom is amazing. I do find it odd that a game that is so good is so loudly hated… but its the Zelda cycle. Us Zelda fans have high and sometimes unfair expectations.
If Switch 2 does not come out this year and we get no games worthy of note, maybe i'll quit Youtube and work at the Zoo with the monkeys. Sounds fun at least.

This is actually a fantastic point by Dave. Both reports can be true. And interestingly Brazil didn’t get Switch 1 until 2020. So a Switch 2 launch in 2024 in typical initial regions, and 2025 everywhere else would actually be amazing.
FYI it's possible other regions (South America?) have different Switch 2 release plans outside of United States/Japan/EU due to limited supply at launch.
Either way it's all rumor/speculation, but even a full Q1 2025 release would still mean Switch 2 gets announced in 2024.👍
Hey guys
@TimGettys
invited me on to the Kinda Funny Games podcast to talk Nintendo’s 2023 (and 2024 🤣). I had a great time and you should check out the show!
Imagine spinning a happy ending where the good guys won with some sacrifices and made their world a better place to something completely different and wrong while tying in completely irrelevant political nonsense.
Metroid Dread is maybe one of the best games of the year. You don’t have to want it, but if you somehow think it has less of a claim to a 60 dollar price than most other games… well thats just dumb on your part.
I think leaks like the one for this artbook from Tears of the Kingdom kinda takes away from the fun of speculating and creating theories. Like yes I want to learn as much as possible, but not like this...

This is incredible news in so many ways. Gamefreak taking their time, Legends coming back and IS a recurrring series, and Gen 10 seems likely for 2026 which means longer dev time and more polish.
...but what in the world are we Nintendo fans playing in 2024? PS5? Palworld?😅
Hey everyone, some of you may have heard that our good friend
@NintyPrime
had to be hospitalized. He's making a recovery, but he's asked me to host his podcast tomorrow since he can't make content right now. So tomorrow ill be hosting his podcast on his channel. See you there.
Its funny when someone calls me a fool for entertaining the possibility of Metroid Prime 4 becoming one of Nintendo’s best sellers. No one thought Breath of the Wild would sell over 30 million, or Switch over 130. No one KNOWS what’s going to happen.
Took a lot longer than expected, mostly because just how much there is to discover in this trailer. I hope I have done it justice, you might see things you have not heard elsewhere yet. Here is my final Tears of the Kingdom trailer analysis:
You ever think about how that kid from Stranger Things was in that Wii U overview trailer? Yeah me neither, I just noticed today while editing a video.
It has certainly been a challenging year, but somehow the channel is now within reach of 40k subscribers. With so much talk of a Switch 2 reveal soon, I have to wonder if this goal might be hit just before that happens. Either way, I've enjoyed the journey. I thank you all.
I hate that I was unable to get the analysis out today. The more I worked on it, the more I discovered. Its still not done, but i'll continue to work on it to make sure its out tomorrow at 10am est. Tune in for my full analysis on the final Tears of the Kingdom trailer. Cya then!
Switch sales decline this quarter was expected, this is not that big a deal. When you don't have Tears of the Kingdom and the Mario movie in one of the slowest times of the year in the 8th year of a console generation without any price drops... this is pretty good actually.

Last week was the most successful in channel history. I can’t guarantee Full-Time effort forever quite yet, but things are headed in a great direction. Thanks for sticking with me. See you for tonight’s podcast at 8pm est. 🔥
This the Switch 2 launch year lineup:
Super Mario: Rise of the Yoshis
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Pokémon Legends ZA
Mario Kart 10 Extravaganza
Monolith Soft New IP (giant rpg with online co-op and pvp, a psuedo mmo)
Star Fox: Armada
Pyoro wispered it to me with his dying breaths
We really should not be sleeping on Star Overdrive. This is an impressive looking game for Nintendo Switch. And by impressive I mean cool looking and fun. The important things.
I have a heavy heart today because we lost our family dog (Houston) this morning.
So l am pushing the planned "TOTK hype stream" to tomorrow. I will pop in for a bit on Nate's cast, but leaving early to be with my family.
He was very loved, and he's resting in peace now.

There is just no way I can get out the full trailer analysis today and do it justice. So instead it will be out early tomorrow and we'll continue our Tears of the Kingdom hype stream while going through BOTW at 6:30 pm est tonight. See you soon!
Very sad to hear that Akira Toriyama the creator of Dragon Ball and so much more has passed. He inspired millions of people for decades. May this true legend rest in peace.
Its taken me some time to get to this due to other projects, but I am excited to announce a Metroid Prime 4 related discussion video for tomorrow. And I think you will love the panel this time:

I had a fair bit of doubt we were going to hit the goal before Nintendo’s E3 Direct...but during the podcast last night despite 2 POWER OUTAGES forcing restarts to the livestream at the very end we hit 10k subscribers ... Thank you all so much for the support.🔥
Now that Nintendo has acknowledged the existence of Switch 2, when they finally show off Metroid Prime 4 they can also say its coming to the successor as a cross gen release.
For tonight's podcast at 8pm est we will not discuss the artbook leak. Nintendo Ninjas, and I want to respect people's wishes. THAT SAID, we do have NEW Tears of the Kingdom theories, Zelda OLED info, Metroid Prime topics, Nintendo Switch 2 online details and MORE! Cya soon!
Hello misinformation and the reason why a lot of people don't even believe the credible rumors. Headlines like this muddy up the waters.
...Also the LAST THING Nintendo will want is for people to think their next gen console is just a refresh like how they did for Wii U.
That extremely disappointing moment when you spend 35 minutes recording (with a time crunch in mind) and you come to realize the microphone was off the entire time.
For tonight's podcast we'll discussing last week's Nintendo Direct at length. There is a lot to dissect here.
@PlayerEssence
will be joining us for the first time too. See you at 8pm est!
@BoTalksGames
Then they'll say "oh but its a remaster". So let's call it a Remaster/Remake just to be safe. Also with how rampant DLC is that should be a category too.
My turn to dunk: No one is gonna say it because it just is not true. If anything OOT had the greatest transition of all time (pun Intended). It set the standard for 3D action games moving forward and is still fun even today.
Metroid Dread will become the greatest selling Metroid game of all time...until Metroid Prime 4 comes out. Glad to see Nintendo giving the franchise the spotlight it deserves.

Being the first to break a news story is overrated. Timeliness matters but so does quality, consistency, comprehensiveness, and ingenuity. Finding the right balance between them all is the real challenge.
