1/3 Thank you to His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, for inviting us to Windsor Castle for the investiture ceremony. I am profoundly grateful to my family, colleagues, and friends for their encouragements and support over the years.
Albanians in the UK are experiencing an alarming rise in hostility and xenophobia. Many people in our community feel targeted by this rhetoric. Politicians and the media must stop demonising and using migrants as a scapegoat.
🚨 So far this year 12,000 Albanians have crossed the Channel illegally in small boats, 10,000 of those are adult single males.
🇦🇱 There is no reason for them to be here and we must follow the route of other European countries and ensure they are returned immediately to Albania.
Jenrick's rhetoric “Find Albanians to detain them". Could you imagine saying that about any other ethnic background?
Stop vilifying Albanians as your divisive rhetoric encourages hatred, xenophobia, and hostility toward the Albanian community in the UK.
Throughout my life, I have been fortunate to meet many people who have supported me along the way, and I am grateful to all of you. I am truly honoured to be awarded an OBE by His Majesty The King.
Huge congratulations to Dr
@Andi_Hoxhaj

UK minister admits 200 children have gone missing, 88% of the children are Albanians. The rhetoric about Albanians should be put to rest, because the safety of children must come first, and we should all be concerned about it.

Thank you to the BBC for inviting me to today's news programme to highlight some of the underlying issues concerning Albanian migrants that we discussed today during the Home Affairs Select Committee hearing on Albania. More information:
Thank you
@MetroUK
giving me the opportunity to tell my story as an Albanian migrant living in the United Kingdom and for getting in touch with me after I posted on Twitter about the rise in xenophobia and hostility towards Albanians.
The French far right has taken up the anti-Albanian sentiment baton left by their British counterparts, inciting hatred and xenophobia. Your party was discovered to be receiving funding from the Kremlin and targeting Albanians will not honour or make you credible.

The police arrested an Albanian for having a mountain tea "çaj mali" from Albania with him, demonstrating the effects of anti-migrant rhetoric and portrayals of Albanians as drug dealers. That's why cultural and education exchange are key to building ties.
Thank you Chair
@aliciakearns
for inviting me to
@CommonsForeign
to discuss the growing instability in the Balkans.
Vučić, like many other autocrats, has been in power for more than a decade, and it would be naive to expect them to become democrats and promote the rule of law.
Yesterday we heard from experts on what the UK can learn from the growing instability in the Western Balkans.

1) The relentless attack, scapegoating, mistreatment, and outright xenophobia towards Albanians and blaming them for much of the government failure on drug and migration policies has led an Albanian man to commit suicide at an immigration detention centre
It's fantastic to see that Foreign Secretary Lord

In my exclusive interview, I ask Serbian President

“Western Balkans are becoming a dumping ground of human and environmental rights, on top of being a security grey zone” — is the reaction to the EU-Serbia lithium deal. This will have repercussions, as autocrats are being rewarded for their transgressions.
Thank you to the Chair of the Home Affairs Committee for inviting me to give evidence today on Albanian socio-legal and economic issues that have an impact on migration. Read my article to learn more about some of the factors linked to Albanian migration:
“Find the Albanians and detain them”. Politicians should stop using the "us vs. them" strategy. It is deplorable to portray an entire nationality as criminals. Please stop dehumanising, targeting, and scapegoating migrants because it breeds division, fear and hate amongst people.
We are working around the clock to remove illegal Albanian migrants and foreign national offenders.
Yesterday I visited an immigration removal centre to witness our weekly removal flights to Albania and thank staff for their crucial work to enforce our borders and keep us safe.
The proposed UN resolution on 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica Genocide is important and pleased that France supports it. It is regrettable that Serbian leaders lack the courage to own their mistakes and to be proactive in reconciliation with their neighbours.

The UK will officially vote in favour of the UN resolution recognising 11 July as a day of remembrance for the victims of the Srebrenica Genocide, as confirmed by Lord

Putin's intention, as rightly pointed out by Kosovo President Osmani, is to open a new front in the Balkans to divert attention away from Ukraine. We pitched a number of articles in the press to explain this in the summer, and warned policymakers in Brussels and Washington about

Despite Interpol's arrest order, the perpetrators of the Banjska attack remain free, undermining the rule of law and stability. Such acts should not be rewarded with €8.5 million from the government and left unaccounted for.

Manchester City will open a Football School in Albania in the autumn of 2024. This is fantastic news that will provide new opportunities and education for young people.
The toxic narrative has been that Albanian males, as opposed to females, are not "true victims" in need of support. This assumption is wrong because the authorities are essentially saying that you are "guilty" until you prove your “innocence”.
Politicians and pundits want you to believe that migrants aren't human by inciting hatred with their anti-migrant rhetoric — now they're claiming that we should also deny them human rights. I hope the attacked by a far-right mob last night has changed your perspectives.

Instead of providing protection, the government has prioritised the demonisation of Albanians by labelling them as "serious criminals" and the hostile environment toward Albanians is contributing to the number of missing children who are now being exploited by organised crime.
