It’s National ODP Day!
Thank you to all the ODPs who work so hard every day to provide excellent patient care.
You know what we’re thinking before we’ve even thought it.
You’re always one step ahead of us.
You’re the one person we want by our side in an emergency.
♥️ ♥️
For no reason at all, a massive THANK YOU to everyone that makes up our diverse and multicultural workforce.
We value everyone in our teams, and are blown away by all your hard work. Whoever you are, and wherever you are from.

A recognition that our training design is based on young, white, male with no caring requirements. This is not the reality for a majority anymore.

👩⚕️Anaesthetists are involved in a multitude of places in the hospital, not just operating theatres
We get to be very hands on, with lots of gadgets & use a wide variety of drugs for each anaesthetic 💉
We work closely in partnership with our ODP colleagues

So proud to witness the unveiling of the portrait of such an inspiration: to women, to anaesthesia, to medicine and leadership. Congratulations!!!!

We do hope that we SHALL be celebrating your news on another occasion. The speciality is richer for those who take winding journeys & routes 🧡
We, as a committee, continue to strongly advocate for anaesthetists in training the UK.
Our voice has been strong on this topic, and hopefully you can hear it in this statement.
Over the past year, there have been many developments in how both Government and the profession view the role of Anaesthesia Associates.
