Just back from dropping my son to school at St Joseph’s RC in Willesden. We live round the corner from the school and, as a local resident and parent, the benefits of a #schoolstreet with CCTV cameras are very obvious. Much more relaxed atmosphere! 😊

@pepemac27 @TfL It's appalling but I am not entirely surprised about it. Sometimes I feel like there is a competition going on among bus drivers about who is the biggest annoyance to cyclists. The thing I fear the most is being in front of a bus on my bike.

@PedderSophie I think the extremely harsh austerity imposed by successive governments sincer 2010 is partially responsible for the lack of collective outrage. Austerity has wrecked lives & an already fledgling sense of common good. I wouldn’t describe the UK as a prosperous democracy.

@MumsForLungs This is absolutely heartbreaking. 😣 We are lucky that, for now, there are only a few houses with wood burners in our area. We need a new Clean air act to ban woodburning or I fear the air pollution will become much worse across the UK.

BTW, did you know that the drop in #RoadTransport emissions experienced last year as a result of the Covid-19 crisis across the world was the major driver of emissions going down by 7% in 2020? Road transport is bad for the planet and it's bad for our health.

Lots of excited chatter in my @BikeabilityUK class this morning as the boys and girls grab their coats and gloves before our session. One of the quieter boys says "This is going to help my mood". On prompting he adds that he had been crying this morning. Worries about home.

I love a lot of respect for tradespeople but there is 1 thing that irritates me whenever I need to use their services: having to sort out parking permit for them. For this reason (and others), I would be very happy to be able to use tradespeople who use a #cargobike .
