โMy wish is that this will provide a positive message to the young girls who would like to follow the path of science, and to show them that women in science can also have an impact through the research that they are performing.โ
- 2020 Chemistry Laureate Emmanuelle Charpentier.
This rings so true having had to say goodbye to one of my patients I have known for a long time. Sometimes the best thing a doctor can do for a patient is to be there for the loved ones who have a hard time accepting itโs time to let go.
Beautiful quote.
Medicine is about relationships.
We are not mechanics. Weโre not fixing a broken vehicle.
We are not soldiers. Itโs not a war against disease.
We are humans. We must care and show it at every phase of illness.
Healing requires relationships.

He told me too how very hard it was to find a journal to accept it after many tries. So the delusional message I tell myself when I get a paper rejection is that people just donโt get it now, but they will in about 30 years and they will realize what they missed. ๐
@DVinsard
Several, but hardest one is the pull between being 100% doctor/scientist and 100% mom.Accepting that sometimes one of them needs to be lower and learning how to juggle that swing takes time.Lots of mom guilt in the process but eventually Iโve learned to take that extra burden off
