Hickman’s run on X-Men is good and too many people overlooked it or discounted it because it didn’t have a serialized narrative structure from month to month. It told really strong self contained stories every month, with some of the absolute best character characterization.

Something that really bothers me about X-Men discourse in the Krakoa era is the pervasiveness of them having to be model minorities or villains. If you expect minorities to be exemplars of moral perfection then you need to take some time and self reflect, cause that’s fucked up.

Regarding Children of the Atom - I highly doubt these are actual children of any of the X-Men, nor are they Chimeras IMO. They're mutant kids who've grown up seeing the X-Men on the news, fighting for mutants - and now they've come to Krakoa to follow their heroes example.

If only the Fox X-Men movies would have stopped at DoFP. That ending where Logan wakes up in the school and sees everyone alive and thriving again is so fuckin' good. Honestly, I don't understand how that flick is as good as it is having to exist in the framework of the FoX-Men.

Just something I need to get off my chest: When groups, particularly marginalized ones, head cannon a character as gay, or lesbian or non-binary, or transgender despite there being no "canon text" supporting it, guess what? THAT'S PERFECTLY FUCKING OKAY AND TOTALLY VALID.

@iconik365 @LambdaLegal The decision can't be overturned, but government could pass now laws which explicitly provide protections for LGBTQIA+ people such as the Equality Act. Unfortunately, that isn't going to happen under our current administration.

And no sooner than I log in to work than do I get an email from the Chief People Officer at my company assuring me that they will work to get trans inclusive medical coverage included in the benefits package for 2021. 😭😭😭😭
