The fact that @paulg put @sama in a list of the five top founders, next to Steve Jobs, Larry Page, and Sergey Brin, 14 YEARS AGO (!!!) is mind-boggling. How is it even possible to be that good at spotting talent so early!?

most of the greatest founders really enjoyed school. Elon was about to do a PhD. Zuck was still planning how to go back to Harvard when Facebook had millions of users. Bezos was summa cum laude in EECS at Princeton. Sergey and Larry were doing PhDs.

Latch turns 3 years old today In the early days we'd celebrate every time a user ran a workflow Last year 60+ biotechs ran 30000+ workflows, started 7000+ pods, and spent 50000+ hours on the platform Far from success, but great memories with the team that makes it possible 🧵

Bulk RNA-Seq has become the workhorse for a lot of genomics research, but computational infrastructure around it had not kept up. Latch is about to change that. For my bio-curious friends 😉 here is a very simplified primer on what bulk RNA-seq is...👇

Today, we’re excited to release Latch Verified Bulk RNA-seq - a curated, end-to-end RNA-seq pipeline that converts FastQ files to count matrices, to differentially expressed genes, to top enrichment pathways. Run it now with a few clicks at 🧵

No Elliot, you and others who think software grows in trees and should be given away freely is the real problem here. This mentality has kept biotech far behind in computing, now that large bio data is making software a requirement, your mindset is coming back to bite us all.

Why does biotech codebase cost insane amounts of $$$? (looking at @SnapGene , @Geneious , @benchling , @LatchBio ) Where are the opensource communities for biotech code like what @TimothyStiles is building? That's like charging programmers for using coding frameworks. Kinda insane.
