(1/2) Last night due to injuries and other circumstances, I had to start a Freshman at 2B (we DH’d for him). After playing a flawless 2B, he was pulled simply due to substitution rules. After he got pulled, we saw him with tears in his eyes on the bench. When we asked why,

It’s been a rough and trying start to our season. Injuries, young guys expected to take on huge roles, tough matchups, etc. We’re stuck in a bit of a rut but we’re going to get ourselves out of it. All I know is it would be a HUGE mistake to ever sleep on @GJHSBaseball .

I am not a fan of fall travel ball. It is terrible for these kids. Tournaments forcing kids to miss school, tons of pressure on kids to throw for their travel program and HS program. No wonder arm injuries are at an all time high. Travel ball needs to be exclusively in the summer

Absolutely love this video of @GJHSBaseball junior @LukePike . Busted it out of the box looking two and when the RF had the slightest bobble, was able to make it to 2B safely. This jump started a 3 run inning. There are a lot of uncontrollables in baseball, but hustle is not one!

Chandler Dorsey just completed his 13 month post Tommy John surgery. His work ethic is insane! He threw a bullpen at USF at sat 92-94 and topped 95! He’s going to be a freshman at USF in the fall.

Bunting is the game’s lost art. Most believe the bunt base hit is found in the element of surprise or a big jump out of the box, so they usually foul the pitch off. The hit is found in placement, put in a spot where you can’t be out. Bunt first, then run.

@nextlevelbb What state is this from? $7000 baseball coaching stipend?! My stipend is $2300 before taxes. It probably comes out to less than $1 an hour. I feel that I already earned my stipend in the month and a half we had before the shutdown.
