My observation:
Men in tech are ok dating a woman that got little to no skills. They'd invest in her training (usually a tech related skill) and coach her all the way
However women in Tech automatically take men with little to no skills off their dating pool.
Roses for the girls that get it 💅🏼

False.
You'll constantly meet new people at different stages of your life.
Be open and create opportunities for new relationships to form and grow while nurturing your existing ones.
You people will slap mid-level to senior dev requirements on intern level salary.
Have shitty hiring process, shitty workflow, shitty management skills
Then come here and "the average Nigerian dev "
The new Zenith bank MD having multiple degrees is my sign that my academia goals ain't silly.
I'm currently enrolled in two degrees while working and building stuff and can't wait for the person I'll be in a decade.

Reviews are in! 😀
Our first
#ComeLearnWithUs
session was a success as it was super helpful to my fellow techies learning Data Structures & Algorithms.
Don’t believe me? Join us this Friday for our second session and witness it yourself.
We’re back!
January was fun in the

community with us learning, unlearning and solving coding challenges
Tonight (9pm gmt +1) we’do concepts recap and touch on some coding interview tips

As someone that likes to build and quite passionate about tech, I know how difficult it can be
To assist I'll be offering some solid structure, resources and support to those that need (laptop, data, finance etc)
Through purple guild.

I've spoken with the mentors and we have decided to kick off June.
It is free and will be available to those that need mentorship in Tech (committed persons).
I'd put out the forms on Wednesday and on boarding from Thursday
I'd be on the panel of the Tech law and ADR society (University of Nigeria Nsukka).
We'd be discussing tech integration in ADR; its pros, challenges and advancement.
I assisted in the recruiting process for juniors and interns a few weeks back and yes calculator app, clones etc won't cut it I'm sorry.
All the top talents built impressive projects, are very articulate and demonstrated strong engineering skills.
This is a
@yewiedewie
appreciation post.
She said something a few years ago casually that's been very key to how I do things and I am grateful.
"What can you do now with what you have? Do it"
Really grateful for her tbh. Thanks Yewie 🙏🏾
Training millions of people but the Nigerian tech start-up scene isn't equipped to hire those "talents"
I used talents there loosely cause the training itself isn't even churning out quality talents
Make we just dey plaster numbers left and right with very very little impact
Wake up! And join me today at Devfest enugu: For the culture
I'll be taking us on a journey from conceptualising to shipping products that matter.
Ijeoma!

Designers and devs let's turn up for newbies and help them transition into tech.
Genesys upskill has been doing amazing work by providing learning resources, mentorship and training sessions.

and I are currently learning about Data Structures and Algorithms & we’ve decided to share our weekly learnings in a simplified manner, given how vast and complicated the topic can be.
So, come learn with us!

And I can't overemphasize this enough.
If you're in school fr face your book and give it your best.
If academia isn't your thing then drop out and get a vocational training. Don't half ass anything and yen yen life isn't scripted
The best in my secondary school just finished her PhD in the US, she’s a medical doctor.
The best in my University is in Canada now doing his masters and he has a job.
Life is not scripted but you have a great chance at a better life with great grades.
Face your book..
This is sad
Also puts him in the position where he'll feel he doesn't have a relationship with his family beyond the money
We highlight the 'entitlement' and forget how it hurts to be a money tool in your own family
This!
The educational system in Nigeria is a joke!
Curriculum is shitty, teachers are being owed salaries (also most aren't incentivised to upskill), the school buildings are an eyesore, libraries, computer labs etc are nonexistent or dilapidated.
But yea blame smartphones
Nigerians have such one-dimensional view of problems. 80% of students who wrote jamb failed and you’re blaming social media and smartphones. Not the fact that your government budget for education is a joke, not poverty, not the utme system, just straight to smartphones.
