@3lfares It was constitutionally a part of the ROC and was controlled by the Qing Dynasty as well. Just because they ROC wasn't capable of talking them back doesn't mean that they weren't a part of China. It was the PRC that was capable of retaking it in the end.

I don't believe in free speech absolutism. I think there should be limits to speech. There has never been a society in human history where a person can get away with expressing any thought on his mind. Every society has its taboos and they exist for a reason.

@3lfares Interestingly enough, the current constitution of 🇪🇹 is "ethnic federalist" which means that it effectively gives mini ethnostates to each ethnicity within the country. It's an extremely awful system which has produced ethnic tension & civil wars.

It's quite interesting that both 🇸🇴 & 🇪🇹 were both lead by brutal Communist dictators which got overthrown in the 90s but 🇪🇹 w/ over 80 ethnicities/ languages & 3 religions managed to remain a cohesive state while 🇸🇴 w/ 1 religion, 1 ethnicity & 1 language became a failed state.

@annitiya ቤተ አማራ is not a made term. The concept has existed and been written about ever since at least the 14th century. I'm not even an Amhara or even chauvinist btw. I believe it's possible for all ethnicities to live peace within a united Ethiopia.

@OrthoMemeSquad This is not even remotely true lol. Our country suffers from many sectarian issues especially surrounding ethnicity but we're surprisingly tolerant and live-and-let-live when it comes to religion. Muslims still form a minority of the population.

"Amhara supremacy" is a misnomer. It is true that 🇪🇹 was dominated by a centralized hegemony but it was the Shewans, not the Amharas. The Shewa province was a melting pot that consisted of Amharas, Oromos, Gurages and Argobbas.
