Birmingham is so much more than the Bullring, the Library or the Jewellery Quarter. It’s a city that beats at the heart of the country with quiet confidence. A capital of culture, proud of it’s diversity and it’s people.

Whatever happens tonight, the future of Labour in Tamworth is bright and I feel very optimistic for Sutton Coldfield Labour’s chances at the next general election.

When he’s not praising UKIP, calling parents who give their children crisps and soft drinks ‘arseholes’, ‘tossers’ and ‘idiots’, or claiming obese poor people eat 'c***' because they think in a 'different gear', I’m sure he finds time to vote Tory.
I’m really honoured to have been re-elected Secretary of West Midlands Young Labour alongside the amazing

I’m so proud of what our members have achieved in the last year and I know that next year will be even better!

Whether this man is or isn’t one of your followers, where’s the condemnation George?
Is it okay to say to Jo Cox’s sister, 5 years after her murder:
“We are going to chase Labour. You are the colour of red. You are the colour of blood. The colour of blood is what you are.”?
Tonight, we questioned, challenged and engaged with our Town Council in a constructive way, and secured commitments to champion young voices and increase engagement in Sutton Coldfield.
I’m so proud of our members - watch this space because we’re just getting started!
It’s great to have four young members at tonight’s Sutton Coldfield Town Council Meeting. It’s important that young people engage at every level of government.
We created West Midlands Young Labour to give young members a welcoming, supportive and FUN space in the party - tonight we definitely achieved that!
I love this group so much and am so proud of every one of them.
Watch this space because
@WestMidsYL
is just getting started!
It’s kinda unsettling for the army to be offering bursaries to secondary school pupils, even for Nursing, Music, etc.
This is blatantly targeted towards lower income pupils and it’s almost a form of targeted propaganda. Idk but the army shouldn’t be allowed into schools imo?
As Chair of the
@KECHBCouncil

School Leaders from across The Schools of King Edward VI in Birmingham have written an open letter to their headteachers asking them to take further action on racism and race education in our schools. Read the letter at

Mr Oggelsby spoke to us today about how he wants to use more gender inclusive language in lessons and apologised for using “boys” and “guys” and I was so impressed until I realised that in my five years at ch, that’s the first time I’ve heard any teacher say something like that.
It was great to have
@RichParkerLab
join us in Wylde Green, where many residents backed him for Mayor.
Andy Street has let down us down for too long. Richard Parker’s already shown he’ll make Sutton Coldfield one of his priorities.
Glad to be joined in Wylde Green by
@RichParkerLab
, Labour’s candidate for West Midlands Mayor
We were sharing Labour’s plan for Jobs and Skills, with many impressed by our New Deal for workers.
Sutton residents are tired of the status quo, and Richard Parker has a new vision.
After a long day supporting Young Labour candidates in Dudley, Sandwell, and Wolverhampton, I’m sure that the future of the Labour movement is bright, with amazing young people like Savannah, Sohail, and Kashmire.

You’ll be an amazing MP for Tamworth. I’m sure you will live up to the trust placed in you, and thank you for proving that Labour can win everywhere.
It’s always socialism for the rich and rugged capitalism for the poor. FSM cost £15 per child per week but an MP is entitled to £25 a night? A system that feeds people on an 80 grand salary before it feeds vulnerable children is so unbelievably broken.
I’m proud that West Midlands Young Labour is a supportive and trans- inclusive space, and it breaks my heart that there are parts of our party for which that’s not true.
The abuse directed towards young members has been unacceptable. The Labour Party can and must do better.
West Midlands Young Labour welcomes, includes and supports all members and is committed to providing a safe space for LGBT+ young members.
Our party must not be a space for transphobes to spout dangerous rhetoric, putting our young members at risk. 1/2
Andy Street’s soon going to realise that Sutton Coldfield is sick of being used as a photo opportunity and people are tired of his empty promises.
He’s failed us on the Town Centre, failed to deliver a bus interchange, and given the chance, he’ll fail us on policing.
The current policing governance model in the West Midlands is simply not working. Crime has doubled, & people feel unsafe.
West Midlands Police has strong leadership and a lot of talented officers, but without the right oversight, scrutiny, & support it will never truly succeed
Oh for fucks sake, let’s make this simple.
A) Women aren’t defined by their womb.
B) Lots of women are unable to give birth.
C) Men can be feminists too.
D) Your opinion is both sexist and endangers trans people.
E) And finally, fuck you. I’m ashamed that you’re a Labour MP.

Kashmire will make an amazing Cllr and a great win for diversity and youth representation!

really took off and become a campaigning powerhouse across the entire region.
From Dudley and Wolverhampton to Solihull to Stoke-on-Trent, West Midlands Young Labour members are doing incredible things! 🔥

Why would a privatised Channel 4 be any different? What is about privatisation that encourages them to invest in the West Midlands?
Selfridges Birmingham is replacing its iconic discs with a jazzy wrap.
Maintenance work on the striking building will commence soon and the scaffolding will be covered in this jazzy wrap.
The discs design, inspired by a Paco Rabanne dress, will return after work has finished.
I hope that Young Labour members online will stop giving Jay Chan the attention he so desperately craves.
I plan on contacting the Sutton Coldfield Conservative Association to express my concerns for his wellbeing, but beyond that, I’m done engaging with him.
The Birmingham Tories are so (rightfully!) ashamed of their party, they’ve had to start their manifesto with “this election is not about national politics”
You couldn’t make this up 😂
Jacinda Ardern is the Prime Minister of New Zealand, not Tony Blair’s protégée. A) She didn’t meet him whilst working for him. B) When she did meet him, she challenged him on the Iraq War. C) How misogynistic is it to credit a man with the accomplishments of a woman?
Please do come along to hear from and be heard by
@RichParkerLab
, the next Mayor of the West Midlands.
Our young members are the bedrock of our campaigns and young people will drive the success of our region, so it’s really important that we use our voice.
Hi everyone, we’re really pleased to announce that we have a catch up with Richard Parker (the West Midlands Metro Mayor candidate)

This might be because I’m not a huge TUAT fan but I love The Doctor Falls, and I feel like it’s the perfect finale. It’s a bit dark but it just feels *right* for the Doctor to die in the Tardis, having sacrificed himself not for the entire universe but just some humans on a ship.

The guy who was taken to court over failing to consult trade unions when making his staff redundant? The guy who lost that case and whose staff were paid £500k by the Insolvency Service, a Govt agency? The guy who just months earlier than this paid himself £5.2 million? That guy?

Jay, your tweets are disgusting and are clearly designed to provoke and offend.
I’ve never seen anybody more desperate for attention online more than Jay. This is seriously unhealthy, and if he was a member of Sutton Coldfield Young Labour, this would be a safeguarding issue.

I think maybe the Labour members should be the one realising the problem and pointing it out, instead of blaming me
Expecially our local Young Labour Adeen who liked this tweet should be the one saying “yes there is a problem with the attendance counting.”

If I had to sum up 2023 in one word, it would be hope.

He’s entitled to his views, sure.
He’s not entitled to shout “We are going to chase Labour. You are the colour of red. You are the colour of blood. The colour of blood is what you are.” to a woman on the same streets which her sister was brutally murdered on five years ago.
The idea that there must be winners and losers in society is the greatest con ever pulled on the working class.
Corporations have convinced us our success is dependent on others’ failure all whilst they make the biggest profits. It’s simply not true.
I'll never understand why some people have such an issue with people claiming Universal Credit receiving like £250 a month but not with the rich avoiding billions of pounds in tax.
2023 hosted an amazing by-election win in my neighbouring constituency Tamworth.
It brought hope and excitement to the West Midlands and set the stage for 2024’s victories.
The Tories don’t care about keeping you or your families safe. 24% of Tory MPs are landlords, is this really a surprise? Boris Johnson and his cabal only care about protecting their own interests.

£45,000 is a well paid job in the UK but $45,000 isn’t a huge amount in some US cities. Considering taxes (8k) and the cost of healthcare (over 10k), you’re left with 26,000 which isn’t enough to live comfortably in NYC or San Francisco.

What this article fails to point out is the failure of Westminster in supporting the city. It’s easy to blame Birmingham City Council for selling the ICC but the financial problems the city faces are rooted in years of Tory cuts.

This is terrifying but not surprising.
Galloway’s campaign has been built on sowing division and pitting our communities against each other. If the man had any shame, he’d condemn this immediately.
I hope the Labour Party are supporting and protecting Kim in any way they can.
Pressure on MPs to keep expenses low will just mean constituencies are underserved and MPs being forced to take on second or third jobs, or taking money from places they shouldn’t.
Corruption and Lobbying are much bigger issues than expenses.
