Today in a church with 4k plus, pastor asked all educators to stand up so someone can touch you and pray for you that God would allow educator's gifts to do the supernatural. No joke,half of the congregation was standing.Christ is not out the school, he's in our hearts everyday.

My mom's wish was to live to see me graduate from high school. She had another stroke a week bf and the hospital delivered her to my ceremony in an ambulance..hr away. She lived to see me grad from college then passed a yr later. God is good!

Grambling held a leadership summit; I was a speaker for a session. This week, on two occasions, individuals who attended a PWI joked about GSU; I stopped them. Twenty-six years later, I know that my HBCU loves me, but that school doesn't love you. You can't buy love. #KDotVibes "

Last week I received a call that my hero(dad) was cancer free. Today, I woke up to tell him Happy 39th(77) birthday. He said, "what did I do to deserve this? Nothing son. Grace and Mercy." Then he broke out into song! Happy Birthday, Daddy Rabbit!

Two months ago, De'Aris and I walked a pitbull back home. 2 mile track. Now, he walks into my office every morning to place his basketball in the closet, UNCONTESTED! WTheck! He doesn't care who is in the office. I told him I need security. Secretly, I enjoy him doing it, lol.

Today, our brilliant son will take the 3rd grade STAAR. There is nothing this test can tell me about his greatness or faults that I don't already know. However, we will have fun applying skills learned. We prayed, and he asked to wear his dad's cologne. "Smell good; do well!"

Students I know you are enjoying summer but I want to give you advice that I wasnt given. If you can, seek out a master tradesman & work for them,even if it's for free. A person that can use their hands will never go broke and sets themselves up to be a business owner.

I went to Mesquite ISD's convocation and saw many educators, former parents, and students I've encountered over my 18 yr career. After each hug and congrats, I heard, "I'm praying for you." They have no idea how much those sentiments mean to me. #smalltownboylivingadream

3 days after the storm, I was looking for my dad. I knew he was alive, but my immediate family couldn't get to him bc roads are shut down & no cell service. I reached out on fb for help, & this was the response. 77 year old man with an amazing heart. If I could be like George!

New teachers reported today. Our goal was to coach them on effective systems. They discussed classroom systems, modeled their system, & received feedback. We don't want the "1st day of school" be the "1st day of school." They also received 3 hours to work. #MustangStandard
