I wonder if the citizens of Edmonton or the NDP MLAs from Edmonton might have class action against Premier based on the tort of abuse of public office, for intentionally disregarding the legally elected representatives. See: Shuchuk v. Wolfert, 2001 ABQB 937, at para. 20. 🤔

Smith's "Council of the Defeated" is a bizarre and self-serving idea. This unelected group is a slap in the face to Edmonton. But she is reacting to a real problem created by our electoral system. It leaves too many Albertans without a representative &deepens regional divides.

Today @CalgaryChamber , Smith plans to use the Heritage Savings Fund for "de risking projects" that businesses are "finding difficult to be able to get financing". She can't keep her hands off the Heritage Fund, she won't be able to keep her hands off an Alberta Pension Fund.

Edmonton MLAs will try to be representatives to all but partisan obligations/different views will make that difficult. The 37% of Edmontonians, and those who only voted NDP strategically, deserve better. We need proportional representation, not a Council of the Defeated.

This is on a logarithmic scale to emphasize the very real differences. Overall, unvaccinated are 6x more likely TO DIE from COVID in October 2023. The effect is even bigger in age 50+. Vaccination IS VERY EFFECTIVE.
