I bet the name “Claude” was workshopped by a bunch of well-paid consultants and brand experts and “chatGPT” was the first thing that popped into someone at OpenAI’s mind (maybe as a variable name originally, they always look like that [`model = “chatGPT” ’])

I totally agree, but here’s some perhaps counterintuitive perspective: Almost all of human history (pre-agriculture) accounts for a small share of human lives (~2% - not even human life-years)

This was my main takeaway from the seeing cave paintings in the south of France. They’re around 15,000 years old and it was just chilling to think that for over 10,000 years anatomically modern people were basically stuck living nasty, brutish, and short lives.
