Proudly serving as The NYS Assemblyman 🏛️ for the 49th AD (Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights, Sunset Park, Boro Park). Navy/Afghan war vet ⚓ Fighting for Bklyn💪
If you wanted more proof that
@POTUS
& his administration who created this migrant crisis have no real intention of solving the crisis expeditiously, a court date on March 1st, 2032 given to a migrant tells you everything you need to know!

I captured this footage at a chain store in Brooklyn. Everything is locked up, probably because of the 44%⬆️ in shoplifting from last year!
Wondering when this store will give up on NYC & shut down, joining the list of other countless stores?

As a Chinese-American, the Lunar New Year has always been the biggest holiday for me. It is a time to gather and celebrate with family and friends.
I wish everyone health, happiness and good fortune in the year of the rabbit.
Thank you to Leader
@WillABarclay
for appointing me to these committees. I look forward to working with members from both sides of the aisle in hopes of bettering the lives of all New Yorkers.
There are fellow assembly members from both sides of the aisle who are willing to tackle the shoplifting crisis perpetrated by repeat offenders. Regrettably, progressive members are still opposed to laws that punish shoplifting. If this continues, this will destroy retail in NYC.
Nearly a third of all shoplifting arrests in New York City last year involved just 327 people, the police said. Collectively, they were arrested and rearrested more than 6,000 times.
Education is so important to my constituents and I’m feeling great having contributed to my first Education Committee meeting. I pushed for parent voice on the class size mandate; families should have a seat at the table.
As you know, the Democrats are trying to ban gas stoves. It seems as of 2026, they will have achieved their goal of banning gas stoves in new construction in NY. I’m fighting hard in Albany to make sure that doesn’t happen & protect families & restaurants from this overreach.
“I am deeply concerned about the Good Cause Eviction legislation that socialist activists & far-left lobbyists are advocating for in Albany & the negative impact it would have on my community.”

I marched with the NYPD Jade Society in the Lunar New Year parade in Flushing. They are our first responders and daily heroes. It gave me great pride to walk with my brothers and sisters in uniform, especially on this auspicious day.

I support the admissions test for NYC’s specialized high schools. I took the test in the 70s, got into Brooklyn Tech but went to Midwood HS. I wholeheartedly support keeping the test for future students.

Went out this afternoon with my volunteers, rallying support for fellow Republican
@Hirsch4NY
in the upcoming Assembly special election in Queens. If you live in Whitestone, College Point, or Kew Gardens Hills, make your voice heard this Tuesday and vote for Hirsch for Assembly!
Protecting ALL homeowners in Brooklyn from “Good Cause Eviction” ruining them is crucial. Without the ability to have tenants and stable rents, owning a home for many in our district will become even more unattainable.
For two years, small landlords in the Chinese community have led protests against what they believe to be a pro-tenant housing system. Democratic support for tenants protection policies like Good Cause Eviction may further tilt the partisan balance.

I was in Manh Chinatown to celebrate Lunar New Year’s Day. Amazing to be among thousands of NYers at the Firecracker Festival. It was an honor to be with community leaders at CCBA, a place of fond memories for me.
“A stunning 30% of respondents — who also cited inept political leadership and soaring taxes as reasons for wanting to flee…”
I’m committed to working with the GOP on the quality of life issues that are making New Yorkers flee everyday.

This is what happens when criminals are emboldened.
And this is happening everyday throughout our district and the city.
We need to fix this before we go beyond the point of no return.
Took time off from campaigning today, need to pay to respects to Dereck Chen. He was shot to death on August 4th, in the parking lot at BJ's for not giving up his backpack quick enough for the gunman.
Enough is enough! Thankfully a death was averted this time but we must stop tolerating the tragedy of our daughters, sisters & wives being shoved onto the tracks. Time to prioritize locking up criminals & getting the mentally ill the help they need instead of building barriers.
Today's press Confernce at the Capitol - the murder of NYPD PO Jonathan Diller.
" Today at the Capital, stand beside fellow legislators and Cops, demand Gov Hochual to support strong public safety bills. Also honoring NYPD Jonathan Diller who died in a line of duty"
We are saddened by the news that Officer Adeed Fayaz died yesterday afternoon. Our deepest condolences to his family, widow and two children.
The shooter has been apprehended and is expected to face murder charges. We thank

As the 2023 Lunar New Year celebrations come to a close this weekend, I am excited to share that I introduced a bill to make Lunar New Year an official public holiday in New York.
The largest NY budget ever passed in the Assembly tonight but disappointed that there wasn’t enough done to fix bail reform, expand educational opportunities or make our city and state safer and more affordable to live and to do business in.
Two recent NYC cases have demonstrated the serious deficiencies in the state’s property laws. Landlords' rights have been compromised by terrible housing policies that punish property owners. We must fix this issue and add “squatting” to the definition of criminal trespass!
Enjoyed dinner last night at a Guatemalan restaurant - El Comal Chapin 6916 18th Ave. I had beef steak and Lily had Fried Pork Chop combo meal includes salad and rice and beans. All around delicious and priced right.
New York not only faces the challenge of crazy bail laws, but also lenient judges. A Bronx judge recently let loose a defendant who admitted to strangling his son and at the same time attacked the victim’s mother. When will NY have had enough?

I am filled with anger and sadness on hearing about the mass shooting in CA. Like my district, Monterey Park is majority Asian. We eagerly await more details and speedy capture of the perpetrator. My thoughts are with the victims’ families.

Just finished walking 8th Ave between 55th-65th St, meeting over 75 store merchants. We discussed important issues:

Yesterday evening, I met with the 66 PCT Commanding Officer at the Community Council Meeting. We discussed public safety and complaints about overnight parking of school buses and heavy commercial vehicles.
I am at the service to pay respect to Adeed Fayaz. Our City mourns the death of this young NYPD officer. We are sad and angry that his life was cut short. Justice must be delivered for this senseless crime against our brother in blue.

Another devastating E-Bike Store fire in Brooklyn, displacing multiple families at 5422 7th Ave. Sadly, this is becoming a pattern in our community, w/these fires not only destroying businesses but also homes above them. We need to do something here to keep our community safer.
At the community meeting last night with
@NYPD62Pct
, we talked about preventing senior scams and the dangers of electric bikes on sidewalks.
Captain Lau and his officers will stay vigilant on the increased criminal activities.
Our event today brought victims with heartbreaking stories — all who lost their savings from identity theft, phone and bank scams. The victims shared how it happened, the challenges they had in reporting the crime, and barriers they faced in trying to recover their funds.
My prayers go to the officer of
@NYPD66Pct
and his family. He is in critical condition after a botched robbery. I hope the shooter is caught soon and brought to justice.
I still believe in NYC.
And I ask that you don’t give up as we try to restore NYC to greatness.
But we’re going to need more than a marketing campaign, we need a solid commitment to public safety on our streets & subways, a push to fix quality of life issues & great schools.
I share leader
@WillABarclay
’s openness to negotiate with
@GovKathyHochul
on changes to bail reform. My top priority is ensuring the safety of all New Yorkers.
Y'day, I joined my Republican colleagues, family members of crime victims & law enforcement to once again call for action to reverse ill-effects of criminal justice reforms enacted in recent years

I’m honored to celebrate Lunar New Year with the citywide Asian FDNY group, representing 280 members. They are the Bravest department that risk their lives everyday for us.
The city's takeover of schools for migrants is ill-suited. Our children suffered enough during COVID. The mayor should request National Guard help to establish sites at Floyd Bennet Field or an alt. location. The Federal gov’t needs to get control of the border.

Another devastating fire claims four more lives. It's time to acknowledge the real-world usage, maintenance, and storage of e-bikes in NYC poses significant risks and endanger lives. My goal is to combat this problem not only in my district in Brooklyn but throughout the city.
I am so proud of the community expressing their view on the homeless shelters. There are two tents for people signing up new voters registration- people power. It's now 20:20pm.

I cannot do this alone. I am humble my supporters came out. Than you thank you.
We must help NYPD identify and prosecute these perpetrators. I hope the public can help identify them from video footage. It appears that the restaurant was targeted - the attack was to destroy property but no robbery and fortunately no one was hurt.
