It has been 70 days since Abdulfatah Hamdallah drowned in the Channel trying to seek safety in the UK. We were promised action. We were told this cannot happen again. Instead, the Home Office demonised, deported and conjured up cruel fantasies. These deaths are on them.

Its becoming clear that arguably the biggest threat to the Jewish Diaspora is the hollowing out of identities, institutions, and funders to only caring about three things: Israel, antisemitism, and Holocaust remembrance. Our traditions and communities need more to survive.

The UK had 29,500 asylum applications last year. That number would barely half-fill the Emirates Stadium (look at what that looks like 👇) . We have so much room in our communities and in our hearts to welcome many more than we already do. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
