In Oct 2018 @WMPolice arrested 950 suspects for domestic abuse & 115 more were interviewed without arrest. This represents an inrease of nearly one third since 2016. Our determination to secure justice for victims is unwavering but the strain on our smaller workforce is real.

Not a power we use lightly. We have asked residents and communities how we best respond to knife crime and we've had huge support for this tactic. However, policing alone can't solve this. Needs a joined up response from all public sector with community support.

POWERS: We have section 60 powers in place in Birmingham city centre, Small Heath and Bordesley Green until 4am tomorrow. This allows officers to stop & search people without reasonable grounds but where there is a risk of violence or believed weapons are being carried.

This morning The King thanked emergency services workers for their support ahead of the State Funeral for Her Majesty The Queen. The King met key staff who have been involved in the planning and delivery of the policing, including officers from other forces.
