last year, HRH The Duke of Cambridge met first responders and members of the public who have received life-saving care.
As a former Air Ambulance pilot, Prince William knows all too well the challenges and strains that come with a career in the emergency services. 🚁
Wishing HRH The Duke of Cambridge a very happy 40th birthday.
The work Prince William is doing to promote collaboration and a joined up approach to health and well-being across the emergency services is greatly appreciated and refreshing.
We're so delighted HRH supports

HRH The Duke of Cambridge formally launches

The Duke has a genuine interest in the physical and mental wellbeing of all who serve in the NHS / 999 services, and for that we are thankful.
#EmergencyServicesMentalHealth
Wishing His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, a very happy birthday.
As somebody who has served as an air ambulance pilot, HRH is a staunch supporter of the emergency services & for the 2 million people who serve in team 999 / NHS.
Happy birthday, Sir.

Let's remember the sacrifices made and continue to stand together to send a united message that 🇬🇧 is immensely proud of and supports each and every member of the emergency services whether they are paid or unpaid, first responder or admin staff.
51 years ago today, the role of Paramedic came into existence after being founded by Douglas Chamberlain.
Thank you to all paramedics who serve across the UK, British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies.

Pleased that the Government has announced the emergency services will receive the
#Coronation
medal.
Whilst not all 999 personnel will receive it, at least many more 999 workers will get this unique medal than was originally proposed.
To mark Emergency Services Day, the Duke of Cambridge will visit Dockhead fire station in south London on Thursday where he will meet emergency responders and members of the public who received their life-saving support.

His Majesty's Coastguard
@HMCoastguard
is the UK's fourth emergency service and today celebrates its 201st birthday.
Coastguard personnel work to save life on land and water - working with colleagues across the emergency services and armed forces.

In line with national mourning, this social media account will now go silent.
Please spare a thought for the emergency services who are going to be working immensely hard to ensure the State Funeral is safe & secure.
Now more than ever, please only dial 999 in a true emergency.
RE: Coronation Medal🎖️
We've tried lobbying Govt re the award criteria. It's looking likely that very few medals will be awarded.
It was our hope that all 999 personnel would receive this medal, or at the least, giving it to those 999 personnel who received the Jubilee Medal.
We truly believe we have the greatest emergency services in the world.
The 2 million selfless men & women who serve in the emergency services & NHS continuously go above & beyond to keep us safe and save lives.
To each and every one of them, a huge heartfelt thank you.

Did you know: Before going on patrol, 999 personnel are required to ensure their vehicle is in working order.
Checks include ensuring the correct kit is in the vehicle & making sure the lights / siren work.

#999Day
to say thanks to team 999.
If you see a member of the NHS, emergency services or social care staff, stop them (socially distanced) and tell them how much you appreciate the work they are doing to keep us all safe.
May the lives of the more than 7,500 members of the emergency services who have made the ultimate sacrifice live on and may their service to the UK and her people forever be remembered.
83 years ago today the number '999' was first used to telephone the emergency services. In those 83 years, tens of millions of people have served in the emergency services and the NHS. We want to say a huge thank you to those who have served, to the call handlers and to Team 999!
Whilst it is pleasing that members of the emergency services will receive Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee medal in February, it is less pleasing that a great proportion of those who have served in the emergency services for at least 5 years, will not receive this important medal.
In her Christmas message, HM The Queen paid tribute to those working across the emergency services, saying "we owe them a debt of gratitude."

The entire emergency services family hopes and prays for the full recovery of the 5

As of now, 999 Day will continue. Should any announcement be made by the Palace, 999 Day activities 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐓 be suspended and 999 Day flags replaced with a 🇬🇧 flag at half-mast, in line with Govt protocol.
Emergency Services Day (999 Day) is a Government backed national day across 🇬🇧 which takes place on 9th September each year. It's your chance to show your support for our 999 heroes. Whilst the main events are cancelled due to COVID, the online campaign is going ahead. More soon.
We are very disappointed to see police officers being punched in the face and having dangerous items thrown at them in London. There is no reason at all that justifies such awful acts of violence against the men and women of the UK emergency services who are there to help you.
It would be wonderful if we could get to 9(999) followers on Twitter by the end of

300+ NHS & emergency services staff have lost their lives to COVID-19. Whilst it is impossible to say how many of them caught Coronavirus on duty, it's fair to say that some of them will have. Our 999 heroes are putting their lives on the line. All YOU have to do is stay at home!

Please be mindful of others if you're blocking a road waiting to go into a petrol station. Disappointing to see some emergency vehicles being unable to get past queues when responding to a job.
